Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 to Launch With the New 40 HP Engine

Published at September 22, 2023 by BikeJunction

The model was going to launch with the name Himalayan 450, which comes from the new 451.65 CC engine.

The Himalayan 450 is one of the most anticipated bikes in the industry and has had much-leaked information. But the latest one is quite interesting and important.

A homologation document from the government has revealed some interesting details about the upcoming Himalayan 450. The first information is that it is referred to as Himalayan 452 in the document in line with the Himalayan 411. The name suggests that it will get an all-new 451.65cc engine.

The other big detail is that it will produce 29.44 KW or 40.02HP at 8,000 RPM.

The higher RPM at which it’ll produce peak power shows that this engine will rev higher than the current Himalayan. The current model produces 24.3HP at 6,500 RPM.

Moreover, the new Triumph Speed 400 makes 40 HP at 8,000 RPM. Although the motor of this Speed 400 has a very strong mid-range. But the new Himalayan is expected to offer better bottom-end torque, assisting its off-road performance. The Triumph engine is a DOHC unit, which is not confirmed. The Himalayan will likely keep their SOHC architecture for the valve train.

Furthermore, according to the documents, the new Himalayan 452 will have 1,510 mm of wheelbase. In comparison, the current model is designed with 1,465 mm of wheelbase. The length has increased from 2,190 mm to 2,245 mm and width from 840mm to 852mm. It can go to 900 mm if it comes with the optional handguards installed in it.

The upcoming Himalayan 452 will be much bigger and wider than its current model. Also, it will be fascinating to see how much changes there will be in the weight as the current model is 199kg.

The new Himalayan 452 will launch sometime in November, and we expect prices to be revealed simultaneously.

Bajaj Tackles CNG Tank Safety Issues in Freedom 125 CNG Bike
July 6, 2024

Bajaj has launched the Freedom 125 in India at a starting price of Rs 95,000. It is the world's first CNG bike, and many customers might worry about the safety of having a CNG tank on a bike. Every year, many CNG cars fail, and bikes are more exposed than cars. Bajaj assures that the bike has been thoroughly tested for safety. The manufacturer says the bike has passed 11 different crash and impact tests at their test facility. How Bajaj Tested the New Freedom 125 CNG Bike Bajaj tested the bike from different angles. In the Front Collision Test, the Freedom 125 CNG bike crashed into a 1.5-ton moving barrier at a speed of 60kmph. Moreover, the company also did a Truck Runover Test, where a 10-ton truck was driven over the CNG bike. This test simulates a situation where the rider falls off and the bike gets run over by a truck. In both the Front Collision Test and the Truck Runover Test, the bike handled the impacts well. The CNG tank stayed in place, kept its shape, and did not leak.Bajaj also performed nine other tests: a Frontal Pendulum Test, a Rear Impact Test, a Left Side Impact Test, a Right Side Impact Test, a Vertical Drop Test, a 50kg Filling Unit Strength Test, two types of CNG Valve Impact Tests (to see if the valve breaks on impact), and a 20G Pull Out Test. Impact tests involved hitting the bike with a moving barrier, while drop tests involved dropping the bike from a height. What is Bajaj Providing in Freedom 125 CNG Bike?Bajaj designed the trellis frame and subframe to keep the CNG cylinder safe. These frames act like cages to protect the cylinder from damage in a crash. The engine is also placed away from the CNG cylinder, so the heat from the engine doesn’t affect the CNG tank. This is important because the CNG tank holds pressurized gas, which can expand when it gets hot. When filling the CNG tank, you need to get off the bike and stand at least 5 feet away. This safety measure at CNG fuel stations helps prevent accidents in case the CNG cylinder explodes. Before you go, don’t forget to check out the June 2024 FADA two-wheeler sales report. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb                 Instagram -  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta                 Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

2025 BMW S1000R Design Updates Uncovered in Leak
October 16, 2024

A leaked image of the 2025 BMW S1000R shows a striking new design. The updated model continues with sharper lines and an aggressive stance that seems almost synonymous with BMW's sportier aesthetic. It will likely come with a mighty inline-four engine but will also benefit from more technology and performance. Enhanced aerodynamics and ergonomic adjustments ensure that you have an exhilarating ride on the S1000R. Enthusiasts would be lining up for additional information at the proper launch as this would promise some exciting developments for the iconic motorcycle. Quick Highlights:Leaked image reveals a striking new S1000R design.Features a revised, aggressive front fascia.Bodywork remains unchanged from the previous model.Equipped with a detuned 165bhp engine.Official unveiling will confirm engine specifications. BMW Motorrad is preparing to introduce a new design for its super naked model, the S1000R, in 2025. A leaked registered design has surfaced online, revealing details about the upcoming updates. 2025 BMW S1000R Design and FeaturesThe front fascia will be new, one that is more minimalist and aggressive. Its design gives the taste of a headlamp, which is seen in the Ducati Streetfighter. This is the only change on the BMW side, as the rest of the bodywork is identical, such as the large radiator cowl, fuel tank, fenders, and tail section. The leaked image further reveals the standard version, which is quoted to come with carbon-less alloy wheels and has a thinner lower part than the M Sport version. The newcomer S1000R features a tiny air intake stud positioned between two LED headlamps. It also sports a steering damper clearly visible beneath that air intake stud, a feature absent from the outgoing model. All the other components of the motorcycle seem pretty much unchanged: the engine, wheels, suspension, and brakes are all identical to those of the outgoing S1000R.  Additionally, for now, the S1000R is powered by a detuned 165bhp version of the S1000RR's engine, lacking the ShiftCam variable valve timing technology found in its sportbike counterpart. We'll have to wait for the official unveiling, though, to find out if this changes specifications or if the R trim does indeed receive the same 210bhp engine as the RR. Before you leave, have a look at the Yamaha R9 launched at USD 12.5K – Indian Launch Expected?Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Leaked Images of Royal Enfield Bear 650 Production Bike!
October 16, 2024

Much excitement was created among enthusiasts when an image of the production variant of the Royal Enfield Bear 650 leaked out. It offers classic design elements with modern performance, seeking both expert and beginner attention alike. The image gives a glimpse of a sleek silhouette with improved ergonomics and unique styling, marking the heritage nature of Royal Enfield. With a 650cc engine that gives this motorcycle the right punch and advanced technology to back up its power. Moreover, the Bear 650 promises to make deep inroads into the mid-range motorcycle segment to be continued. Quick Highlights:Image of Royal Enfield Bear 650 leaked.Combines classic design with modern performance.Powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine.Features off-road-oriented hardware and tyres.Bold yellow and blue paint scheme is showcased. As the launch date of the Bear 650 draws closer, Royal Enfield is readying itself for the onslaught of launches in the coming months. Recently, the production-ready bike saw light in images, displaying a design more similar to the Interceptor 650 than not. Royal Enfield Bear 650 Design and FeaturesThe Royal Enfield Bear 650 is basically a scrambler with an inherent design similar to the Interceptor. It boasts the signature round LED headlight, peanut-shaped fuel tank, and a single piece of seat sporting a tubular grab rail. Still, it comes with a reworked tail light and turn indicator arrangement compared to its model, the Interceptor. The Bear 650 will be powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine found in all contemporary 650cc Royal Enfield models, matched to a six-speed gearbox. It would sport a two-in-one exhaust system, which may give the bike distinctive tuning and sound characteristics. The exhaust layout is specifically designed for scrambler intentions and is reported to be decidedly lighter than exhaust systems on most other bikes. Just as with others, Bear 650 would also appear on a standard single-pod instrument console—in this case, with a fully digital display standardly connected to the latest smartphone technology. We expect this bike with ABS in its dual-channel variation to go along with a USB charging port and so on. The Bear 650 would be an off-road motorcycle featuring hardware typical of this segment. It includes USD front forks, dual rear shocks, a single disc brake at both the front and rear, and spoke wheels equipped with block-pattern tyres. The bike has an incredible yellow and blue colour scheme. We're guessing rit eflects some experimentation in using bolder colors, much like that on the Guerrilla 450. We expect to see more vibrant colour schemes in the future for the Royal Enfield Bear 650 motorcycle.  Before you go, have a look at the Suzuki GSX-8R vs Triumph Daytona 660: Which is BetterFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Where they all wish to challenge norms and make their mark in the world. Updated KTM 250 Duke LaunchedFinally, the upgraded version of the KTM 250 Duke has hit the Indian market, and the fans are thronging the brand with great excitement. The new version of the super-popular 250cc naked bike takes much from the elements that could be witnessed in the KTM 200 Duke. Such as the sleek 5-inch TFT instrument console and the user-friendly 4-button switchgear inherited from the Gen-3 KTM 390 Duke.  Moreover, the LED daytime running light is one of the apparent parts of Duke 390's identity, a great feature added to increase visibility. It makes the bike look even more modern, pushing boundaries on its elegant design. It is an urban commuter, yet promises ride performance like any KTM. Further, this is a part of its appeal in creating an interesting combination of riding with both style and functionality. 2025 Kawasaki Vulcan S LaunchedAnother interesting news is that the Kawasaki Vulcan S has entered the Indian market. For this year, the cruiser is available in a new Pearl Matte Sage Green colour that has replaced the colours that were previously available on the bike. Though the new colour scheme lends a new modernity to the bike, the engine, as well as the hardware of the motorbike, has not been altered. With constant performance, this Vulcan S ensures the reliability and comfort that riders have grown to appreciate. While Kawasaki may roll in some other colours during its time, this launch continues the tradition of stylish options for riders. 2025 Yamaha R3 Unveiled Yamaha has rolled out the much-awaited 2025 R3 to the global audience, and it is already making a fuss in the sportbike segment. Additionally, the bike is equipped with fresh new front fairings.  It not only freshens its features but also significantly improves aerodynamics by giving the bike a much more racey personality. Since its unveiling, the entry-level sportbike market has shone with a fresh look. However, some are speculating that it could even be the KTM 390 Adventure X, the lower-priced variant of the highly-valued 390 Adventure. The spy shots have people talking about more details concerning what the company can offer in adventure bikes going forward. Honda Takes the Lead Over Hero MotoCorp in Sales FiguresWith this significant change in motorcycle market trends, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India have re-gained the number one position in sales in September, overtaking Hero MotoCorp. So effectively, Honda has registered 333,927 bikes and scooters, with Hero MotoCorp at the second number. This has important implications for the dynamics of the market. Suzuki GSX-8R vs Triumph Daytona 660: Which is Better?
October 15, 2024

Suzuki has launched the middle-weight sportbike GSX-8R in India. The bike, priced at Rs. 9.25 lakh, is pretty attractive, especially when we consider the Triumph Daytona 660. The 660 is a pricey offering with a much smaller engine, but that's more than just the displacement this time. Let's see how things fare for this middle-weight sportbike. Why choose among these Bikes? It will depend on which kind of ride you prefer between the Suzuki GSX-8R and the Triumph Daytona 660. The former is powered by a powerful twin-cylinder to deliver great torque, while the latter packs a high-revving triple to provide more power. Nonetheless, both bikes offer solid sportbike performance with advanced features and stylish designs. Design and Aesthetics:This design is from the 675cc for the Triumph Daytona 660, along with wide LED headlamps and a middle air intake. In contrast, the Suzuki GSX-8R side fairings are angular and drawn from the GSX-R1000, with a solid fuel tank and a very short but upswept tail section. Features:Most of the features of both the bikes are common. Daytona 660 has an LCD-TFT instrument cluster, which also provides Bluetooth connectivity. The Suzuki GSX-8R also has a colour LCD console and connectivity. Ride-by-wire, along with multi-level traction control, multiple riding modes, and dual-channel ABS, is available in all. Notably, this quick bi-directional shift is standard in Suzuki, where it is optional in the case of Daytona 660 from Triumph. Engine Configuration:That's where the two different bikes have greatly diverse features: cylinder configuration, power, and torque. Suzuki GSX-8R has a 776cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine that has a 270-degree crank. It produced 81.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm peak torque at 6,800rpm.  In contrast, the Daytona is a 660cc inline triple-cylinder. It produces a lower rate of torque at 69Nm but better power at 80bhp. Equipped as standard with a six-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch, both engines can transfer their maximum of 10,250 rpm to the rear wheels. SuspensionsTriumph Daytona 660 has a steel perimeter frame with non-adjustable 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD front forks and a Showa monoshock with preload adjustment. Braking is esnured to twin 310mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc, the latter with switchable ABS and Triumph-branded callipers at both ends.  However, the Suzuki GSX-8R has a steel diamond frame with Showa suspension at both ends, though non-adjustable at the front, while the rear preload can be adjusted. It has an initial braking setup of a dual 310mm front disc with a single 240mm rear disc. Price TagsSuzuki has priced the GSX-8R at Rs. 9.25 lakh making it usually more affordable than the Triumph Dayton 660, which is tagged at Rs. 9.72 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).Before you go, have a look at the Honda unveils new Forza 125, Forza 300 scooters, Forza 750 maxi-scooterFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
