Moreover, the modern features, which include electric powered begin and advanced braking systems, make a secure and snug riding experience. This launch highlights Bajaj’s dedication to providing high-quality bikes at affordable prices in the Indian market.
Highlights:
-First CNG motorcycle in the market
- 125cc Engine Capacity
- 2kg CNG tank
The Bajaj Freedom has been launched in India with a starting price of ₹95,000. This groundbreaking version in this phase is the first CNG motorbike in India and is to be had in 3 distinct variants: Freedom 125 Disc LED, Freedom 125 Drum LED, and Freedom 125 Drum. The top two are priced at ₹1.10 lakh and ₹1.05 lakh, respectively. However, all prices are ex-showroom.
The Bajaj Freedom has a 2kg CNG tank well-placed in the middle of the bike, which ensures good weight distribution. A 2-litre fuel tank is located above and in front of the CNG tank, usually where a conventional motorcycle has a fuel tank. Together, the CNG and fuel tanks cover about 330km. Riders can seamlessly switch between the two fuels with a change. Notably, the bike has a filler cap that holds both CNG and petrol, making it easier to refuel.
The bike is powered by a 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 9.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox.
Moreover, emphasising design over function rather than form, the Bajaj Freedom clearly stands out from other commuter motorcycles. The top two variants feature LED headlights, a fuel tank made from a dirt bike, an impressively tall seat that Bajaj claims is the longest in the segment and a well-designed tail section that many who want a different look will appreciate. Additionally, the bike gets digital instrument clusters with Bluetooth connectivity, adding a modern touch to its range.
Under this body, the Bajaj Freedom features a tubular grille frame supported by a telescopic fork and a linked monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch wheels and is equipped with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes for efficient braking. However, the base variant also includes front drum brakes.
Bajaj Freedom aims to revolutionise affordable travelling, and it will be interesting to see how it is received in the market. The bike can now be booked on the Bajaj website and dealerships.
