A leaked image of the 2025 BMW S1000R shows a striking new design. The updated model continues with sharper lines and an aggressive stance that seems almost synonymous with BMW's sportier aesthetic. It will likely come with a mighty inline-four engine but will also benefit from more technology and performance.
Enhanced aerodynamics and ergonomic adjustments ensure that you have an exhilarating ride on the S1000R. Enthusiasts would be lining up for additional information at the proper launch as this would promise some exciting developments for the iconic motorcycle.
Quick Highlights:
BMW Motorrad is preparing to introduce a new design for its super naked model, the S1000R, in 2025. A leaked registered design has surfaced online, revealing details about the upcoming updates.
The front fascia will be new, one that is more minimalist and aggressive. Its design gives the taste of a headlamp, which is seen in the Ducati Streetfighter. This is the only change on the BMW side, as the rest of the bodywork is identical, such as the large radiator cowl, fuel tank, fenders, and tail section. The leaked image further reveals the standard version, which is quoted to come with carbon-less alloy wheels and has a thinner lower part than the M Sport version.
The newcomer S1000R features a tiny air intake stud positioned between two LED headlamps. It also sports a steering damper clearly visible beneath that air intake stud, a feature absent from the outgoing model. All the other components of the motorcycle seem pretty much unchanged: the engine, wheels, suspension, and brakes are all identical to those of the outgoing S1000R.
Additionally, for now, the S1000R is powered by a detuned 165bhp version of the S1000RR's engine, lacking the ShiftCam variable valve timing technology found in its sportbike counterpart. We'll have to wait for the official unveiling, though, to find out if this changes specifications or if the R trim does indeed receive the same 210bhp engine as the RR.
