BMW Motorrad has just dropped a thrilling teaser photo of its long-awaited release of the R1300 GS. This marks a significant moment as it's the brand's first official social media reveal of this bike.
This captivating teaser image shows the R1300 GS with a dramatic splash enveloping most of the motorcycle. While it leaves us eager for more, the image offers valuable insights. Spy shots of the bike had already hinted at a remarkable transformation, and this teaser reaffirms it. The new R1300 GS appears notably leaner, showcasing a sleeker, more compact design, redefining its overall body proportions.
BMW R 1300 GS comes with a thrilling upgrade as it takes the reins from the legendary BMW R 1250 GS. Beneath its bold exterior, you'll find a robust 1,300cc boxer-twin engine expertly paired with a 6-speed transmission. This beast's power and torque figures stand tall at 143bhp and 143Nm, a notable boost from the previous 134bhp. Watch out for the cutting-edge BMW ShiftCam technology, possibly delivering a slightly different tune than the existing 1250 series.
The R 1300 GS will feature a revolutionary electronically controlled chassis system known as SAF Next. This technological marvel empowers riders to adjust the seat height by approximately 1.18 inches while the bike is in motion. On the rear end, you'll find a bolt-on subframe adding to the bike's versatility.
The new BMW will come with advanced hardware, including a front Telelever and rear Paralever suspension system. This dynamic motorcycle will glide on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, offering a choice between cast alloy and spoked wheels. As a standard feature, tubeless tyres promise convenience.
And despite its larger dimensions compared to the R 1250 GS, the R 1300 GS weighs in 12kg lighter at 237kg. When it comes to braking power, count on a dual front and a single rear disc complemented by a dual-channel ABS system.
While we all are waiting for the arrival of the BMW R 1300 GS, the price tag is going to be luxe compared to the current-generation R 1250 GS, which currently starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 20.55 lakh in the domestic market.
Once launched, this adventure motorcycle will go head-to-head with rivals like the Ducati Multistrada V4, the Harley-Davidson Pan America, and more.
So, till we get more information on its launch details, don’t forget to check out Aprilia’s new RS 457 and everything it has to offer.
