Royal Enfield Bear 650 vs Interceptor 650: Features Breakdown
Royal Enfield Bear 650 vs Interceptor 650: Features Breakdown
CalendarPublished on November 16, 2024 by BikeJunction
Royal Enfield has been creating much excitement among middle-weight motorcycle buyers with its 650cc lineup. Powerful motorcycles at very affordable prices have thrilled customers. But two will stand out: the newly announced Bear 650 and perennial bestseller, the Interceptor 650. These bikes are made for an exciting set for riders looking for both performance, comfort, and a classic all-around design.  Here, we have compared the two bikes in detail by breaking down key features into subsections regarding engine and power, mileage, fuel tank, top speed, price range, and market value. What Are the Benefits of Scrambler Bikes?Scrambler bikes perfectly combine rugged off-road capability with street performance. Their design is ideal for a variety of terrains, whether city streets or light trails. They most often come with bigger wheels, meaning they provide better grip on much more varied surfaces.  In addition, their distinctive design attracts riders who like adventure and a little shine of vintage aesthetics. Due to their easy and loose riding posture, scramblers are also perfect for rides beyond several hours. Therefore, it is ideal for weekend rides or daily commutes. Engine and Power: Bear 650 vs Interceptor 650Both the Bear 650 and Interceptor 650 are powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine. This engine produces an identical output of 46.8bhp but differs in torque. RE Bear 650’s engine produces 56.5 Nm of torque, while the Interceptor 650’s engine produces 52.3 Nm.  Moreover, the engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and delivers a smooth, linear power delivery ideal for long rides and highway cruising. The Bear 650, however, is slightly tuned for more low-end torque, making it a better choice for city commuting. Mileage and Fuel Tank Capacity: Bear 650 vs Interceptor 650Bear 650 and Interceptor 650 share different fuel efficiency figures. Royal Enfield Bear 650 offers a mileage of 30 km/l, while the Interceptor 650 offers 23 Km/l. Under normal riding conditions, both models are quite fuel-efficient for their engine size and performance capabilities. However, bikes have the same fuel tank capacity with a slight difference. The Bear 650 offers its users a 13.7-litre fuel tank, while the Interceptor 650 offers 13 L of fuel tank capacity. Additionally, the Bear 650’s more relaxed riding position and gearing could give it a slight edge in fuel efficiency. Top Speed: Bear 650 vs Interceptor 650In terms of top speed, both the Bear 650 and Interceptor 650 are capable of hitting 160-170 km/h. The performance of both bikes is well-suited for highway cruising and fast rides. The Interceptor 650, with its sporty ergonomics and sharper throttle response, might feel a bit quicker on the straights, but the Bear 650’s upright stance makes it a better choice for leisurely long-distance touring. Price Range: Bear 650 vs Interceptor 650Royal Enfield Bear 650 comes in a price range of ₹ 3.39 - 3.59 Lakh in India (ex-showroom). The Bear 650's pricing may be influenced by its more rugged design and the intended market positioning.  However, the Interceptor 650 is priced between ₹ 3.49 - 3.80 Lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the best value-for-money motorcycles in the 650cc segment. Market Value: Bear 650 vs Interceptor 650Launched on November 5, 2024, the RE Bear 650, made for people who want to own scramblers with modern performance, is finding its place in the growing adventure and retro-style motorcycle segment. In contrast, the Interceptor 650 has been a market leader in the mid-weight segment since its launch, with its combination of retro looks, modern tech, and performance. Its strong sales reflect its popularity, and it enjoys high resale value. Before you go, have a look at the Leaked specs of the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350.Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb   Instagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta   Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Indeed, this was the most amazing week of 2024, with several new revelations and launches at the EICMA show in Milan. If you couldn't keep up with all the excitement, here is a quick recap. So what is basically EICMA? “EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) is the world's premier motorcycle trade show, held annually in Milan. It’s where manufacturers showcase their latest models, innovations, and concepts to the global biking community”.  Upgrades and launches this weekEICMA 2024 saw significant motorcycle unveilings, including the Royal Enfield Bear 650, KTM 390 Adventure R, and Aprilia Tuono 457. Hero Motocorp unveiled its new Karizma XMR 250 and Xtreme 250R, while Royal Enfield unveiled its first electric bike, the Flying Flea C6, with a launch slated for 2026. KTM also showcased the 390 Adventure R and more. New Hero bikesHero Motocorp unveiled a major launch at EICMA, a sea of new and updated motorcycles. Headliners include the all-new Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250R, and Xpulse 210. The company also presented the 2025 versions of the Mavrick 440 and Karizma XMR 210. However, showstoppers at Hero's stand were the unveiling of design sketches of the Xpulse 421 concept. Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 electric bikeRoyal Enfield has launched its first-ever production electric motorcycle, known as the Flying Flea C6, at EICMA. The bike has an aluminium frame coupled with a magnesium battery casing that is light in weight and provides great performance. The Flying Flea C6 is powered by a modern, contemporary safety feature such as traction control and cornering ABS. It has the first Royal Enfield model with such technology on board, and it's all set to roll out into the market in 2026. Aprilia Tuono 457 unveiledThe brand showcased at the EICMA 2024 the much-awaited Tuono 457-essentially the version of the sportbike RS 457. The Tuono does away with the fairing and boasts a new headlamp design. Further, it features a tubular single-piece handlebar for better comfort in the saddle, similar to the RS 457. Like the RS 457, the Tuono will be manufactured locally; chances are that its prices will be lower than those of their sportbike models. Royal Enfield Bear 650 launchedRoyal Enfield launched the scrambler version of the Interceptor 650, called the Bear 650. Though sharing the same platform with the INT, it features some important updates in the chassis, wheels, suspension, dimensions, and design in general. The bike starts at a price tag of Rs. 3.39 lakh to Rs. 3.59 lakh. Alongside this, Royal Enfield rolled out the Classic 650; the official prices of the bike have yet to be announced. New KTM 390 motorcyclesKTM revealed its much-awaited, adventure-focused 390 models. The Austrian manufacturer featured the flagship 390 Adventure R model, which sported the biggest features and upscale components in the Indian lineup. The 390 Enduro R and 390 SMC R also made their public debut, though they are less likely to be launched in India during the initial phase. Before you go, have a look at the Oben Electric Launches the Rorr EZ Electric Bike in India at Rs 89,999Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb   Instagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta   Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
Updated Interceptor 650 from Royal Enfield: Expected to have 750cc engine
Updated Interceptor 650 from Royal Enfield: Expected to have 750cc engine
CalendarPublished on October 28, 2024 by BikeJunction
There would seem to be nothing but positives for Royal Enfield. The brand is launching the much-awaited update to their popular Interceptor 650, which will come with a 750cc engine. This further nudges for performance while adhering to the classic lines that the fans love so much.  The unit is said to increase the motorcycle's power and torque, helping to place it at the forefront of its mid-size segment. The Interceptor can come with improved suspension and brakes, making it an excellent ride for both new and skilled riders. Quick Highlights:New 750cc engine is under development.Interceptor expected to debut with 750cc engine.Launch anticipated between 2026 and 2027.Improved power and torque are expected with the upgrade.Prototype features dual front brake discs tested. Royal Enfield introduced the first modern 650cc motorcycle, the Interceptor, nearly seven years ago. While the bike has seen various updates over the years, the most significant enhancement is anticipated within the next two years. Royal Enfield's Shift from 650cc to 750cc Engine DevelopmentWe have learned that the company has been working on increasing the displacement of its engines from 650cc to 750cc. Their first model built to showcase this is anticipated within two to three years of its release date. In fact, it hopes to make an extra 5-7bhp by upping this to a parallel twin. A prototype of the Interceptor was recently spotted testing close to Royal Enfield's R&D facility in Chennai. This test mule flaunted dual front brake discs, a first for the brand, though this is probably part of component testing. We expect the first bike to use this motor will be the Himalayan, as a test mule for this adventure bike was seen a few weeks ago. It will be marketed not as an adventure bike but as a sports tourer with a 19-inch front wheel setup. Royal Enfield's 650cc twin engine is indeed one of the finer things coming out of India. It delivers overall refinement, excellent NVH characteristics, and plenty of torque. The new 750cc engine should be better, which might just help the company in India and overseas markets. Before you go, have a look at the Exciting Teaser for New Xpulse 210; Unveiling at EICMA 2024Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
