Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Specifications

Royal Enfield’s popular Interceptor 650 motorcycle is getting big updates. A test bike of the 2025 model has been spotted on the roads in India, showing some new features and changes. The Interceptor 650 has been around for a long time, and this new model promises to be better in many ways.  Royal Enfield is expected to price the new Interceptor 650 between Rs 3.10 lakh and Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Let’s know more about the updates in the upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 bike:  New Design Updates in Interceptor 650The 2025 Interceptor has a stylish design. It comes with a round LED headlight and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with a neat, flush-fitting lid. Moreover, the rear fender is also new, and the bike now has a circular LED tail light and turn signals. These lights look similar to the ones on the smaller Royal Enfield Hunter 350. This new Interceptor will also come in several colors. Better Suspension and BrakingThe 2025 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 still uses the same sturdy frame as the older model. However, the suspension has been updated for a smoother ride. The front now has a larger telescopic fork, and the rear comes with twin shock absorbers that you can adjust. These upgrades mean the bike should handle much better on the road. Furthermore, the bike now rides on alloy wheels with tubeless tires. It also has new brakes, replacing the single front disc with two discs and Bybre brake calipers. Moreover, this new setup should improve braking performance, though only a test ride will tell us for sure. Updated Display and Same Powerful EngineThe new Interceptor 650 features a single-pod instrument cluster, replacing the twin-pod setup. This new cluster is a simple yet stylish display with a chrome ring around it. It’s expected to have a TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, similar to the one on the Himalayan 450. The Interceptor 650’s engine has remained the same. It still has the powerful 648cc parallel-twin engine that makes 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. Classic Legends recently launched the popular British brand BSA in the Indian market, debuting its Goldstar 650. The model competes directly with the well-regarded Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which is known for its value for money. An interesting detailed comparison review is needed to determine which one is on the top. For now, let’s put their specifications down on paper.  Prices: BSA Goldstar 650 vs. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Let’s address the most important issue first. Despite Classic Legends expecting the BSA Goldstar 650 to be priced lower than the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, both are quite similarly priced. Goldstar starts at Rs. 3 lakh and goes up to 3.35 lakh, while the Interceptor 650 is priced at Rs. 3.49 lakh and Rs. 3.80 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The Goldstar variants only differ in colour, while the Interceptor 650 offers variations based on wheel type (spoke and alloy) and colour.  Engine: BSA Goldstar 650 vs. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 The two bikes are very similar in terms of performance. The Interceptor 650 has a 648cc air/oil-cooled twin-cylinder engine. The engine produces 34.9 kW @ 7250 rpm and 52.3 Nm @ 5150 rpm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. Unlike the Goldstar 650 has, the 652cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine produces 45.6bhp and 55Nm more torque with a five-speed gearbox. Adding to the differences in their engine configuration and gearbox, we expect a noticeable difference in driving experience between the two.  Suspensions and Brakes: BSA Goldstar 650 vs. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Starting with the more established model, the Interceptor 650 features 18-inch spoke wheels, with telescopic forks at the front and twin gas charged shock-absorbers suspension at the rear. Braking is managed by 320 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear. For comparison, the BSA Goldstar 650 uses an 18-inch front wheel and a smaller 17-inch rear wheel. It doesn’t have twin gas charged shock-absorbers in the back, instead opting for conventional springs. However, the Goldstar is fitted with Brembo brake callipers and has a 15 mm thick rear disc.  Design and Features: BSA Goldstar 650 vs. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650Both the Interceptor 650 and Goldstar 650 embody the classic retro aesthetic, simplified yet elegant, with a consistent round design theme. The BSA Goldstar looks big, with large front and rear fenders and prominent under-seat panels, while the Interceptor 650 looks minimalist.
