Updated Interceptor 650 from Royal Enfield: Expected to have 750cc engine
CalendarPublished on October 28, 2024 by BikeJunction
There would seem to be nothing but positives for Royal Enfield. The brand is launching the much-awaited update to their popular Interceptor 650, which will come with a 750cc engine. This further nudges for performance while adhering to the classic lines that the fans love so much.  The unit is said to increase the motorcycle's power and torque, helping to place it at the forefront of its mid-size segment. The Interceptor can come with improved suspension and brakes, making it an excellent ride for both new and skilled riders. Quick Highlights:New 750cc engine is under development.Interceptor expected to debut with 750cc engine.Launch anticipated between 2026 and 2027.Improved power and torque are expected with the upgrade.Prototype features dual front brake discs tested. Royal Enfield introduced the first modern 650cc motorcycle, the Interceptor, nearly seven years ago. While the bike has seen various updates over the years, the most significant enhancement is anticipated within the next two years. Royal Enfield's Shift from 650cc to 750cc Engine DevelopmentWe have learned that the company has been working on increasing the displacement of its engines from 650cc to 750cc. Their first model built to showcase this is anticipated within two to three years of its release date. In fact, it hopes to make an extra 5-7bhp by upping this to a parallel twin. A prototype of the Interceptor was recently spotted testing close to Royal Enfield's R&D facility in Chennai. This test mule flaunted dual front brake discs, a first for the brand, though this is probably part of component testing. We expect the first bike to use this motor will be the Himalayan, as a test mule for this adventure bike was seen a few weeks ago. It will be marketed not as an adventure bike but as a sports tourer with a 19-inch front wheel setup. Royal Enfield's 650cc twin engine is indeed one of the finer things coming out of India. It delivers overall refinement, excellent NVH characteristics, and plenty of torque. The new 750cc engine should be better, which might just help the company in India and overseas markets. Before you go, have a look at the Exciting Teaser for New Xpulse 210; Unveiling at EICMA 2024Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
2025 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: Key Updates Spied During Testing
2025 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: Key Updates Spied During Testing
CalendarPublished on October 25, 2024 by BikeJunction
Royal Enfield’s popular Interceptor 650 motorcycle is getting big updates. A test bike of the 2025 model has been spotted on the roads in India, showing some new features and changes. The Interceptor 650 has been around for a long time, and this new model promises to be better in many ways.  Royal Enfield is expected to price the new Interceptor 650 between Rs 3.10 lakh and Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Let’s know more about the updates in the upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 bike:  New Design Updates in Interceptor 650The 2025 Interceptor has a stylish design. It comes with a round LED headlight and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with a neat, flush-fitting lid. Moreover, the rear fender is also new, and the bike now has a circular LED tail light and turn signals. These lights look similar to the ones on the smaller Royal Enfield Hunter 350. This new Interceptor will also come in several colors. Better Suspension and BrakingThe 2025 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 still uses the same sturdy frame as the older model. However, the suspension has been updated for a smoother ride. The front now has a larger telescopic fork, and the rear comes with twin shock absorbers that you can adjust. These upgrades mean the bike should handle much better on the road. Furthermore, the bike now rides on alloy wheels with tubeless tires. It also has new brakes, replacing the single front disc with two discs and Bybre brake calipers. Moreover, this new setup should improve braking performance, though only a test ride will tell us for sure. Updated Display and Same Powerful EngineThe new Interceptor 650 features a single-pod instrument cluster, replacing the twin-pod setup. This new cluster is a simple yet stylish display with a chrome ring around it. It’s expected to have a TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, similar to the one on the Himalayan 450. The Interceptor 650’s engine has remained the same. It still has the powerful 648cc parallel-twin engine that makes 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. Moreover, the test bike also shows new exhaust pipes, which could offer a fresh sound. Before you go, don’t forget to check out the offers available on Pure EV bikes.Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb Instagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
