Published at March 15, 2024 by BikeJunction

Triumph is among the country's top five best-selling motorcycles between 300cc and 500cc. The company recently launched the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. These bikes have reached markets like Malaysia, the Philippines, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Now, Triumph aims to attract more enthusiasts by working on a new model.

Now, according to Rajiv Bajaj, the CEO of Bajaj Auto, there's talk of an upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 cafe racer version based on the 400cc platform. The Thruxton 400 is being tested, and it looks a lot like the Speed 400. People think it will be similar to the previous Thruxton model, focusing more on looks than comfort.

The launch of this 400cc Triumph bike is expected to happen swiftly, possibly in the first or second quarter of CY2024. Moreover, the upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 price in India will be around Rs. 2.60 Lakh.

Triumph Thruxton 400: Design & Aesthetics

This bike features a semi-fairing, resembling the Speed Triple RR sold globally. It shares the same round LED headlight and clip-on handlebars. The fairing adds visual mass, addressing a drawback of the Speed 400. Moreover, the Triumph Thruxton 400 features a round LED headlight integrated into the cafe racer fairing.

The upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 bike features a tubular handlebar with bar-end mirrors, a single-piece seat with a flat grab rail, and a similar exhaust canister. These design elements enhance its cafe racer appeal and characterise it from its predecessor.

Triumph Thruxton 400: Engine & Hardware

This triumph bike is expected to share many features and hardware specs with the Speed 400. Triumph Thruxton 400 will likely be equipped with a 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 40 PS and 37.5 Nm of torque. Moreover, its engine will be coupled with a 6-speed gearbox.

The upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 is anticipated to maintain a sporty feel. It has 43mm USD front forks and a gas monoshock RSU at the rear, ensuring a comfortable ride. Moreover, it features a single disc on both ends with dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. These components will be mounted on 17-inch wheels fitted with road-biased tyres. The test mule spotted overseas was equipped with Pirelli Rosso 3 rubber tyres, likely to be used in export markets. India may feature locally sourced Apollo or MRF tyres.

Triumph Thruxton 400: Features

It is expected to feature modern amenities such as a semi-digital instrument console, ride-by-wire, traction control, a USB charging port, and a side stand sensor. Also, the Triumph Thruxton 400 bike gets a pillion-grab rail for enhanced convenience.

Bajaj Tackles CNG Tank Safety Issues in Freedom 125 CNG Bike
July 6, 2024

Bajaj has launched the Freedom 125 in India at a starting price of Rs 95,000. It is the world's first CNG bike, and many customers might worry about the safety of having a CNG tank on a bike. Every year, many CNG cars fail, and bikes are more exposed than cars. Bajaj assures that the bike has been thoroughly tested for safety. The manufacturer says the bike has passed 11 different crash and impact tests at their test facility. How Bajaj Tested the New Freedom 125 CNG Bike Bajaj tested the bike from different angles. In the Front Collision Test, the Freedom 125 CNG bike crashed into a 1.5-ton moving barrier at a speed of 60kmph. Moreover, the company also did a Truck Runover Test, where a 10-ton truck was driven over the CNG bike. This test simulates a situation where the rider falls off and the bike gets run over by a truck. In both the Front Collision Test and the Truck Runover Test, the bike handled the impacts well. The CNG tank stayed in place, kept its shape, and did not leak.Bajaj also performed nine other tests: a Frontal Pendulum Test, a Rear Impact Test, a Left Side Impact Test, a Right Side Impact Test, a Vertical Drop Test, a 50kg Filling Unit Strength Test, two types of CNG Valve Impact Tests (to see if the valve breaks on impact), and a 20G Pull Out Test. Impact tests involved hitting the bike with a moving barrier, while drop tests involved dropping the bike from a height. What is Bajaj Providing in Freedom 125 CNG Bike?Bajaj designed the trellis frame and subframe to keep the CNG cylinder safe. These frames act like cages to protect the cylinder from damage in a crash. The engine is also placed away from the CNG cylinder, so the heat from the engine doesn’t affect the CNG tank. This is important because the CNG tank holds pressurized gas, which can expand when it gets hot. When filling the CNG tank, you need to get off the bike and stand at least 5 feet away. This safety measure at CNG fuel stations helps prevent accidents in case the CNG cylinder explodes. Before you go, don’t forget to check out the June 2024 FADA two-wheeler sales report. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb                 Instagram -  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta                 Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Hero Destini 125 LX Variant Leaked Before Launch: What to Expect!
December 18, 2024

A new entry-level LX edition of the Destini 125 will be available with other variants, according to a leaked document. In the Indian market, Hero MotoCorp debuted the second-generation Destini 125 in September 2024. Nevertheless, the brand only offered three models at the time: VX, ZX, and ZX+. Now, we get to know that a new base edition of the Destini 125, called LX, will be launched. The launch of a new entry-level model is confirmed by a leaked registration approval document. Moreover, it is anticipated to be unveiled alongside the whole Destini 125 lineup at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Hero Destini LX will be the most reasonable model in the Destini 125 lineup because it is the base model.  What Can We Expect? Some of the most fundamental characteristics that can help with cost-cutting may be included in the new model. Steel wheels and drum brakes could be preferred over the alloy wheels and disc brakes seen on the other Destini 125 models. Additionally, it may have an instrument console that is entirely analogue. Just so you know, a digital-analogue cluster is an option for the VX version. In an effort to attain even more aggressive pricing, Hero MotoCorp may potentially choose not to include the Destini 125 LX's chrome accents. It is anticipated that the suspension system, which consists of a mono-shock unit at the back and telescopic forks at the front, would be kept from the preceding versions. In terms of specs, the Hero Destini 125 LX is probably going to be driven by the same 125cc single-cylinder engine. It produces a power of 9 bhp at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.4 Nm. Moreover, it could be mated to a CVT transmission. According to Hero, it offers the best-in-class mileage of 59 km/l. In the Indian market, it will compete with the TVS Jupiter 125 and the Honda Activa 125.Before you go, check out the Comparison of Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 vs Jawa PerakFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Comparison of Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 vs Jawa Perak
December 17, 2024

The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is a newcomer to India's expanding bobber-style motorcycle market. There are various tough rivals, but it will compete directly with Jawa Perak. In this comprehensive comparison, we'll examine a number of important factors, including engine specs, design, performance, and cost. We are here to assist you in deciding which of these unique bikes provides the greatest value and riding experience. Engine ComparisonThe Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is equipped with a 5-speed transmission and a 349 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is tuned for 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of maximum torque. The Jawa Perak has a 334 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It has a maximum power output of 29 bhp and a maximum torque of 30 Nm. Furthermore, a six-speed transmission powers the gearbox. Specifications ComparisonThe tubeless spoke wheels of the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 are 16 inches in the back and 19 inches in the front. The RE bobber's telescopic forks are further features. Moreover, the ByBre units with dual-channel ABS provide the braking performance. However, the Jawa 42 Bobber and the Jawa Perak are similar. It is equipped with a 240 mm disc in the back and a 280 mm disc up front. Dual-channel ABS is a standard feature. The spoked wheels are 17 and 18 inches in length. Features ComparisonThe Jawa Perak has a stylish analogue instrument console and speedometer. This portion provides a simple yet useful arrangement by displaying crucial info like the fuel level, travel information, and odometer readings. Although it has a similar configuration, the Goan Classic 350 goes one step further by offering a semi-digital instrument console. Design ComparisonDespite their retro-inspired designs, these bikes are distinguished by their distinct characteristics. The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is a real show-stopper, with striking colours like Trip Teal, Purple Haze, Rave Red, and Shack Black that grab attention right away. Its whitewall tyres add to its antique look and give it an appealing yet genuine retro feel.  On the other hand, the Jawa Perak has a more subtle, even enigmatic appeal. It has a timeless vibe because of its sleek lines, traditional round headlight, and simple design. In contrast, the Jawa Perak's design language exudes a more understated appeal. Its design is genuinely vintage. The Perak receives elegant lines, a minimalistic appearance, and a circular headlight.
