- 2024 Honda ADV 160 launched in Malaysia

- New grey and white colour options

- Technical specifications remain unchanged

Honda has updated its ambitious adventure-style scooter, the ADV 160, for 2024 in Malaysia. The change introduces two new colours—grey and white—and retains unchanged technical specifications.

Features and Future Prospects

The ADV 160 stands out for its ruggedness and durability, which sets it apart from conventional scooters. It has a muscular front apron and sleek LED headlights, including a tall windshield. Like the Yamaha Aerox, it has a distinctive centre spine combined with a long tail, which accommodates a spacious seat. Also, the new colour options have refined decals on the sides for a more aesthetic look.

Robust 14-13-inch alloy wheels paired with chunky, block-pattern tyres enhance its rugged power and ride quality. Furthermore, the scooter is powered by a 156.9cc liquid-cooled engine, producing 15.8bhp and 14.7Nm of torque, mated to a CVT gearbox. This model features traction control, dual-channel ABS, a height-adjustable windscreen, a smart key with an anti-theft alarm, a USB charging port, and a massive 30-litre under-seat storage capacity to ensure impressive performance.

Currently, it seems unlikely that the Honda ADV 160 will arrive in India. However, we expect future trends that will diversify the Honda portfolio, intensify the competition with the Yamaha Aerox 155, and bring excitement to the market.

Bajaj Tackles CNG Tank Safety Issues in Freedom 125 CNG Bike
July 6, 2024

Bajaj has launched the Freedom 125 in India at a starting price of Rs 95,000. It is the world's first CNG bike, and many customers might worry about the safety of having a CNG tank on a bike. Every year, many CNG cars fail, and bikes are more exposed than cars. Bajaj assures that the bike has been thoroughly tested for safety. The manufacturer says the bike has passed 11 different crash and impact tests at their test facility. How Bajaj Tested the New Freedom 125 CNG Bike Bajaj tested the bike from different angles. In the Front Collision Test, the Freedom 125 CNG bike crashed into a 1.5-ton moving barrier at a speed of 60kmph. Moreover, the company also did a Truck Runover Test, where a 10-ton truck was driven over the CNG bike. This test simulates a situation where the rider falls off and the bike gets run over by a truck. In both the Front Collision Test and the Truck Runover Test, the bike handled the impacts well. The CNG tank stayed in place, kept its shape, and did not leak.Bajaj also performed nine other tests: a Frontal Pendulum Test, a Rear Impact Test, a Left Side Impact Test, a Right Side Impact Test, a Vertical Drop Test, a 50kg Filling Unit Strength Test, two types of CNG Valve Impact Tests (to see if the valve breaks on impact), and a 20G Pull Out Test. Impact tests involved hitting the bike with a moving barrier, while drop tests involved dropping the bike from a height. What is Bajaj Providing in Freedom 125 CNG Bike?Bajaj designed the trellis frame and subframe to keep the CNG cylinder safe. These frames act like cages to protect the cylinder from damage in a crash. The engine is also placed away from the CNG cylinder, so the heat from the engine doesn’t affect the CNG tank. This is important because the CNG tank holds pressurized gas, which can expand when it gets hot. When filling the CNG tank, you need to get off the bike and stand at least 5 feet away. This safety measure at CNG fuel stations helps prevent accidents in case the CNG cylinder explodes. Before you go, don’t forget to check out the June 2024 FADA two-wheeler sales report. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb                 Instagram -  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta                 Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Hero Xpulse 210 Seen in Testing Ahead of Launch!
September 19, 2024

Hero was seen testing the Xpulse 210 ahead of the much-awaited launch. This is promising to increase motorcycle fans' excitement about the world of adventure. The new model emphasises features and performance more than the successful Xpulse 200. Additionally, the Xpulse 210 promises to improve on performance, design, and technology compared to its predecessor.  Spy photos lately have shown a solid build with better suspension and features. The model is designed for off-road adventures and adventure touring but caters to the growing demand for versatile motorcycles. The Xpulse 210 will be launched in 2024. Do watch out for updates from the brand, and stay tuned for further updates.  Quick Highlights:Xpulse 210 spotted testing before launch.Excitement builds among adventure bike enthusiasts.Robust redesign enhances performance and features.Expected engine similar to Karizma 210.Launch anticipated in the coming months.Hero MotoCorp is conducting rigorous testing of its upcoming adventure bike, Xpulse 210. Now, it has been spotted testing again, this time at the North Zone on Khardungla Road. The bike is all set to launch soon, and here's what we know so far.  Robust Redesign with Enhanced Features and Performance In terms of design, the Hero Xpulse 210 looks bigger and sturdier than the Xpulse 200, with round LED headlights, a small visor, and a more compact design. Thin and durable construction indicates that it is larger than the previous model. We expect the LED headlights on the Hero to have full features like a digital display, smartphone connection, driving modes and ABS.  The Xpulse 210 is expected to have the same engine as the current Karizma 210, which is a 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 25.15 hp of power and 20.4 Nm of torque. We anticipate some adjustments in the engine tuning for the Xpulse 210, which will be paired with a six-speed transmission. With the upgraded Xpulse 210, we expect better performance and output. This includes a higher top speed and better power delivery in advanced turns, as the current Xpulse tends to struggle in such conditions.  As shown here, the Xpulse 210 has a telescopic front fork with travel and a single rear shock. The braking system consists of front and rear discs mounted on spoked wheels with tubular tyres. Hero is likely to offer adaptive suspension and a rally kit for the Xpulse 210 as separate options similar to what exists today.  Hero MotoCorp is likely to launch the Xpulse 210 in the next few months. Due to the updated engine architecture and other improvements, we expect the price to be significantly higher than the Xpulse 200.Curious to know about the Newly Launched Revolt RV1 Electric Bike. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb Instagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Battle of the Titans: Triumph Speed 400 vs Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
September 19, 2024

Motorcycling is the current trend, and the world is full of adventure for riders; the options now available are countless. With numerous options available, the Triumph Speed 400 and the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 stand out in this category. These motorcycles are for enthusiasts who seek performance, style, and comfort rolled into one. We will be taking a closer look at the detailed comparison of these two impressive motorbikes based on key parameters.  Comprehensive Overview of Bikes The Triumph Speed 400 follows the profile of its tagline with superior performance and excellent fuel efficiency. In contrast, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has a classic styling and a torque-rich ride that caters to riders' varied preferences.  Engine Details: Triumph Speed 400 vs Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Both the bikes offer nice deals in terms of engine performance. The Triumph Speed 400 sports a 398.15cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. The engine delivers remarkable power to the bike, producing up to 39.8 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. Combining this power output with a well-suspended, light body truly creates a bike that is really fun to ride and has great handling.  Meanwhile, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 mounts a slightly larger 452cc engine that also puts out 40 horsepower at the same 8,000 rpm. While the horsepower numbers may be the same, the Guerrilla 450's extra displacement offers a different torque character that could influence how the bike rides in certain situations. That makes it a good bet for the rider who wants a more traditional, torquey ride experience.  Mileage: Triumph Speed 400 vs Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450Mileage is always a significant requirement for riders, especially those who travel by motorcycle every day. The Triumph Speed 400 surprised by offering a mileage of 34 km/l. At such an efficiency level, the bike can easily be used for urban travel as well as long journeys without being compelled to stop at each fueling station very often.  However, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450's mileage is 25 km/l. While decent, it's not as good as the Speed 400. Nevertheless, the Guerrilla 450's character and performance-oriented design might just turn the heads of those who wish to enjoy more on roads than just on fuel stations.  Top Speed: Triumph Speed 400 vs Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450For speed enthusiasts, pushing a motorcycle to its top speed is an important thrill. Triumph Speed 400 will go over 170 km/h at the top end while providing a relaxed riding experience. Its light frame and powerful engine make for remarkable acceleration and handling.  The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has a fair top speed of around 140 km/h. While this is less than the Speed 400, the Guerrilla 450 makes up for it by carrying strong low-end torque that helps a lot in real-world rideability. For riders who seek a mix of speed and usability, the Guerrilla 450 may well be appreciated.  Suspension and Brakes: Triumph Speed 400 vs Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450The motorcycle's suspension and braking setup really make a significant difference for a rider. And if one were to imagine the character of the Triumph Speed 400, surely the advanced front upside-down forks. Moreover, the monoshock at the rear end contribute to making the bike's handling stable on various terrains. In conjunction with dual-channel ABS, this setup really gives a rider some assurance, especially in aggressive riding conditions or at sudden stops.  Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 features telescopic forks at the front and linkage type monoshock absorbers at the rear. It makes a ride in the vehicle very plush as it absorbs all the bumps on the road to the maximum extent possible. The use of modern braking technology in the making of the Guerrilla 450 ensures safety and reliability while on the ride.  Price Comparison: Triumph Speed 400 vs Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450The pricing factor also helps to make the decision about the motorcycles. Both models are competitively priced. Triumph Speed 400 is available at an ex-showroom price of ₹ 2.34 Lakh in India. Moreover, it's a bargain from which the rider gets an uncompromised amount of features and performance. Its heritage will give it immense quality and appeal to the riders through its design and technology, which is pretty great for good investments.  The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is a little costlier than that, available at a price range of ₹ 2.39 - 2.54 Lakh in India. It may be a bit more expensive, but the Guerrilla 450 is what gives it a signature style that is absolutely 'classically' and uniquely its own, hitting the right chord in certain segments of riders.  ConclusionSumming up, the Triumph Speed 400 and Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 have their pros and cons. The former offers immense performance, great fuel efficiency, and high tech. Additionally, it makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of riders. Meanwhile, the Guerrilla 450 offers a traditional riding experience with its torque-heavy engine and comfortable suspension, catering to those who appreciate classic styling. Curious to know about the Revolt Launches RV1 Electric Bike; Upgrades RV400 Model. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb Instagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

The RV1 has a 2.2 kWh battery and can go up to 100 km on a single charge. However, other bikes might offer better performance and value. Buyers should compare options before choosing. Here are some other choices you can consider for the same price as the Revolt RV1.  Revolt RV1 Faces Stiff Competition: Explore These AlternativesThe newly launched Revolt RV1 is priced competitively, but buyers may want to explore other options in the same price range. Competitors like Hero Splendor Plus Xtec, Honda Activa 6G, and Ola S1X offer more features, better performance, or longer range.  Before deciding, comparing these options is essential to make the best choice.  Hero Splendor Plus Xtec | Rs. 79,911 - 83,461 Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is a newer version of the popular Hero Splendor. It is a top-selling bike in India and is known for its reliability. New Triumph Speed Twin 1200 Duo Announced
September 18, 2024

Triumph has unveiled the revamped Speed Twin 1200 models. These are available in two variants: standard and RS. The engine now produces 105 horsepower. Triumph has revealed the updated Speed Twin 1200 with these two options. The main difference between them lies in the base and a few ergonomic adjustments.  Quick Highlights:Speed Twin 1200 is available in standard and RS.The engine produces 105 horsepower at 7,750 rpm.The updated design features new LED headlights.Revamped instrument panel with LCD display. Both models are equipped with advanced safety features.Comprehensive Updates to the Speed Twin 1200: Design, Features, and Performance The Speed Twin 1200 has undergone significant changes. The most striking change is the exterior. It now has the same LED headlights as the Speedmaster, and with this update, Triumph is aiming for a sleeker look. To improve on this design, the updated Speed Twin model features a new engine cover, and an upside-down rear shock absorber with RSU unit replacement. Moreover, it comes with a sleeker exhaust pipe.  The Speed Twin 1200 model's instrument panel has been revamped. It replaces the dual digital analogue dials with the Trident 660 LCD display, currently available on most Triumphs. Additionally, a C charging port comes as a standard convenience for riders to charge their cell during the battery drainout.  The standard Speed Twin 1200 is available in three colours: white, red and silver, while the RS model comes in two options: black and orange. In true style, there is a wide selection of factory accessories available. Also included for the first time are clip-on handlebars and a single seat for a classic cafe racer aesthetic.  Both the Speed Twin 1200 and RS have a 1,200 cc parallel-twin engine, liquid-cooled like before. But now this motor has a new cam, sportier tuning, and a higher rpm of 8,000 rpm. It is now rated at 105hp at 7,750 rpm and 112Nm at 4,250 rpm. Power has increased by 5hp and is delivered 500 rpm later in the rev range, matching the output of the previous Thruxton RS.  Both models have a slip-and-assist clutch paired with a six-speed gearbox, but only the RS model has a bidirectional quick-shifter. This makes it the first Neo-retro model of Triumph's standard Speed Twin 1200 to include this feature. Moreover, the quick-shifter is not adjustable due to different footpeg placements.  Ergonomics and Performance Features of the Speed Twin 1200 ModelsIn terms of ergonomics, the standard Speed Twin 1200's handlebars are positioned higher and closer to the rider. The footrest is more spacious compared to the RS model. Further, the seat height is 805 mm lower, making it easier to access than the RS and previous models.  As a sportier model, the RS has more aggressive ergonomics. This includes the handlebar in front and the underside of the footrest in the rear. It features a taller seat height of 810mm and is equipped with a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork and Öhlins shock absorbers. Braking is managed by superbike-grade Brembo Stylema calipers gripping dual 320mm discs. Similar to the current Speed Twin 1200, the RS comes fitted with Metzeler Racetec RR tyres.  The base Speed Twin 1200 has simpler wheel components compared to the RS. The suspension consists of a non-adjustable 43mm fork and twin shock absorbers, both courtesy of Marzocchi. Braking is managed by Triumph-branded radial 4-piston callipers gripping dual 320mm discs, while the standard Speed Twin is equipped with Metzeler M9RR tyres.  Both bikes come with cornering ABS and traction control. Additionally, it comes with Road and Rain riding modes in standard, but the RS model also has a sport mode and a two-way quick shifter. RS-exclusive features include aluminium front and rear fenders and premium stitching on the seat.  However, the base Triumph Speed Twin 1200 will be priced at GBP 12,495 internationally, an increase from the current model's GBP 11,995. The RS variant is set at GBP 14,495. In India, the Speed Twin 1200 currently costs Rs 11.09 lakh, and it remains to be seen what pricing strategy Bajaj will implement when the new models arrive. Before you go, have a look at the New Colour Launch for the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb  Instagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta  Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
