Anticipated Pricing for the BSA Goldstar 650 Launch in India

Published at August 8, 2024 by BikeJunction

Ahead of its release in India, the BSA Goldstar 650 is anticipated to hit the market with a price tag of around Rs. 2.40-2.60 Lakhs. This pricing method is designed to make the bike competitive against rivals such as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Moreover, it aims to target a large section of the mid-weight motorcycle market with traditional and modern features by combining other essentials as well.

Highlights:

  1. Classic Legends introduces BSA as its third brand in India
  2. Goldstar 650 will be competitively priced
  3. Features a 650cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine
  4. Expected to start around Rs. 2.40-2.60 lakh (ex-showroom)

Classic Legends is all set to launch the legendary British marque BSA as its third brand in India. The first offering, the Goldstar 650, which is already available internationally, is scheduled to be launched in India. Moreover, the pricing will be released on August 15, 2024. Our estimate of the expected pricing of Classic Legends for BSA has yet to be made available.

Affordable Pricing Strategy of the BSA Goldstar 650
BSA Goldstar 650 any angle

The Goldstar 650 is priced affordably for several reasons. The first one will be done locally in India, ensuring minimum investment costs. In addition, its simple engine design and common wheel components further contribute to its low price. The motorcycle has a 650cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine, with common features like dual cradle frames, spoke wheels, telescopic front forks, and a dual pod analogue console with a small LCD. All of these help with low maintenance costs.

Another important factor that affects the price of the Goldstar 650 is its main competitor, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which is known for its affordable prices starting from Rs. 3.03 lakh (ex-showroom) and has been very popular. To create buzz around BSA and attract potential buyers, Classic Legends aims to maintain highly competitive pricing, ensuring that buyers get the best value for their money.

Considering these factors, we expect the BSA Goldstar 650's initial price (Ex-showroom) to be around Rs. 2.40-2.60 lakhs. This introductory pricing structure can be differentiated in colour options. However, it allows Classic Legends to establish a distinctive presence in the mid-weight motorcycle segment and outshine competitors like the Interceptor 650.

Bajaj Tackles CNG Tank Safety Issues in Freedom 125 CNG Bike
July 6, 2024

Bajaj has launched the Freedom 125 in India at a starting price of Rs 95,000. It is the world's first CNG bike, and many customers might worry about the safety of having a CNG tank on a bike. Every year, many CNG cars fail, and bikes are more exposed than cars. Bajaj assures that the bike has been thoroughly tested for safety. The manufacturer says the bike has passed 11 different crash and impact tests at their test facility. How Bajaj Tested the New Freedom 125 CNG Bike Bajaj tested the bike from different angles. In the Front Collision Test, the Freedom 125 CNG bike crashed into a 1.5-ton moving barrier at a speed of 60kmph. Moreover, the company also did a Truck Runover Test, where a 10-ton truck was driven over the CNG bike. This test simulates a situation where the rider falls off and the bike gets run over by a truck. In both the Front Collision Test and the Truck Runover Test, the bike handled the impacts well. The CNG tank stayed in place, kept its shape, and did not leak.Bajaj also performed nine other tests: a Frontal Pendulum Test, a Rear Impact Test, a Left Side Impact Test, a Right Side Impact Test, a Vertical Drop Test, a 50kg Filling Unit Strength Test, two types of CNG Valve Impact Tests (to see if the valve breaks on impact), and a 20G Pull Out Test. Impact tests involved hitting the bike with a moving barrier, while drop tests involved dropping the bike from a height. What is Bajaj Providing in Freedom 125 CNG Bike?Bajaj designed the trellis frame and subframe to keep the CNG cylinder safe. These frames act like cages to protect the cylinder from damage in a crash. The engine is also placed away from the CNG cylinder, so the heat from the engine doesn’t affect the CNG tank. This is important because the CNG tank holds pressurized gas, which can expand when it gets hot. When filling the CNG tank, you need to get off the bike and stand at least 5 feet away. This safety measure at CNG fuel stations helps prevent accidents in case the CNG cylinder explodes. Before you go, don’t forget to check out the June 2024 FADA two-wheeler sales report. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb                 Instagram -  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta                 Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
