The updated version comes with a traction control system, which bumped up the price by Rs 7,000. Despite this price increase, it remains a good deal. The Z650RS offers retro charm and aims for affordability against the Trident's premium appeal, while the Trident dazzles with modern tech. Both bikes come with 650cc engines, and they compete for riders looking for performance and style. Let's compare it to the Kawasaki Z650RS bike with its main rival, Triumph Trident 660. Performance and PowerThe Kawasaki Z650RS is equipped with a 649cc 4-stroke, 2-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled that delivers 50.2 kW @ 8,000 rpm and 64Nm @ 6,700 of torque. On the other hand, the Triumph Trident 660 is fitted with a 660cc Liquid-cooled, 12-valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder engine, delivering 81PS of power @ 10,250 and 64Nm @ 6,250 of torque. Moreover, the Z650RS’s engine is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox with a Wet, multi-disc clutch. The Z650 Rs bike gets 300 mm dual disc brakes at the front with a Dual-piston calliper and 220mm single-disc with a single-piston at the rear end. On the other hand, the Trident 660 bike is fitted with Nissin two-piston sliding callipers, twin 310mm floating discs at the front and a Nissin single-piston sliding calliper, single 255mm disc with ABS at the rear end. Apart from this, Triumph offers additional accessories such as frame protection, front axle, protectors, engine cover protection and classic bar end mirrors. Moreover, the Kawasaki is not behind; it offers a knee cover, a large clear windscreen and a passenger grab bar. These accessories enhance safety while riding. Price and ValueThe Kawasaki Z650RS comes at a price tag of Rs. 6.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India. Meanwhile, the Triumph Trident 660 commands a slightly higher price tag, starting from Rs. 8.12 lakh. Both bikes are formidable contenders in the midsize motorcycle segment.
