Triumph has unveiled a special edition of the Trident 660 called the Triple Tribute Edition, available globally for only one year. This model celebrates Triumph's iconic triple engine legacy, particularly honouring the legendary 'Slippery Sam' racer. He was renowned for winning multiple races in the 1970s. The Slippery Sam Tribute version of the Triumph Trident 660 price is £7,895 ( Rs 8.30 lakh).
The Triumph Trident 660, released in 2021, honours Triumph's first-ever triple-cylinder motorcycle, introduced in 1968. The 2025 special edition continues to celebrate the Trident's impressive racing legacy, especially its success at the Isle of Man TT races.
The Triumph Trident 660 Special Edition showcases a unique white, black, and blue colour scheme with red accents. Also, it showcases graphics inspired by racing and features a unique race number graphic.
The chief commercial officer for Triumph Motorcycles, Paul Stroud, said, "Since its launch in 2020, this middleweight roadster has reinvigorated this highly competitive category, selling more than 35,600 units worldwide. Its triple engine and premium detailing at a great price has been successful in bringing younger and new riders to Triumph, and just as 'Slippery Sam' once inspired a generation, we believe this special edition has the iconic style, extra technology, and dynamic performance to appeal to today's Triumph fans."
This special edition bike is powered by a 660cc, liquid-cooled inline 3-cylinder engine that generates 80 bhp and 64 Nm of torque. Moreover, the Triumph Trident 660 engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox for smooth shifting. The bike rolls on 17-inch cast-aluminium wheels fitted with Michelin Road 5 tires. This ensures reliable grip and handling on various road surfaces.
The original Slippery Sam was a 750cc Trident race bike famous for competing in short circuits and prestigious events like the Isle of Man TT. Its name comes from the Bol d'Or 24-hour race, which is still held today.
Triumph Trident 660 features a 41mm show USD with inverted separate-function front fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear end. Also, it equis nissin brake callipers on 310mm discs at the front and a 255mm disc brake at the rear.
The Triumph Trident 660 Triple Tribute Special Edition features number 67 around the signature knee cutouts and along the flowing seat line. Triumph badges adorn the headlight, taillight, fuel filler cap, instruments, and handlebar clamp.
These limited edition units now come equipped with a Triumph Shift Assist system, which enables clutchless up-and-down gear changes for the rider. The bike now comes standard with shift assist, a flyscreen, and a belly pan, which were previously optional on the standard Trident 660. Other features of the Trident 660 include dual-channel ABS, a colour TFT display, traction control, and two ride modes: Rain and Road.
