Last week was extremely eventful for the Indian two-wheeler market, with several new product launches in segments, including electric motorcycles and middle-weight roadsters. If you missed these updates, here’s a quick summary.
The TVS iQube Celebration Edition has been launched in India for the 3.4kWh variant, with a starting price of Rs 1.20 lakh. It is also offered in the S variant, priced at Rs 1.29 lakh, ex-showroom. This special edition was launched to mark the 78th Independence Day of India. Only 1,000 units of each of the 3.4kWh variant and the S variant will be offered. Notably, their prices are identical to those of the standard iQube e-scooter.

Royal Enfield has unveiled the 2024 Classic 350, which will be launched on September 1, 2024. This model year update brings several feature enhancements and cosmetic updates. The new Classic 350 has LED headlamps and will include an LED tiger lamp, adjustable lever, and gear position indicator. Also, the top-end variants have LED adjustment indicators.

Ola Electric has entered the electric motorcycle market with its new Roadster series, which includes the Roadster X, Roadster and Roadster Pro, each of which increases in price and specifications. The entry-level X variant starts at Rs. 75,000, while the premium Pro model goes for Rs. 2.5 lakhs. These models vary in regard to features, design, hardware battery range and top speed.

Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has launched the redesigned Jawa 42 in India, priced at Rs. 1.73 lakhs. This model reflects important technical changes and subtle cosmetic changes. It has a 294.7cc liquid-cooled engine, which has been refined for smoother development and higher torque delivery at low revs. While the suspension system remains unchanged, the compression and recoil casting have been tweaked.

The BSA Gold Star 650 has been launched in India at Rs 2.99 lakh. Made in India, it comes in five different colours, each with a different price. The bike is powered by a 652cc, 4-valve, DOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 45bhp and 55Nm of torque. The Goldstar 650 competes with the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which is priced at Rs 3.03 lakh.
