New Honda Entry-Level Bike Debuts In India- Everything We Know So Far

Published at February 6, 2023 by BikeJunction

Honda's EV strategy's first phase will see the global release of at least 10 electric two-wheelers by 2025. One million EVs are expected to be sold by 2027. And by the end of this decade, Honda EV sales are anticipated to exceed 3.5 million vehicles. However, Honda will continue to rely significantly on ICE-based vehicles for the remainder of this decade. As a result, Honda's total sales in 2030 will only account for 15% of EV sales. Switching to all-electric is a big effort that needs to be done in a planned, staged manner.

Honda Electric Bikes: Entry-Level

The Cub e, Dax e, and Zoomer e are three of Honda's most recent electric motorcycles that have been on display. These are based on their corresponding petroleum counterparts. The first country where these innovative e-bikes are being sold in China. Honda seems to be following an initial EV strategy similar to that of other OEMs, which calls for retrofitting electric motors into existing petroleum-powered vehicles.

In some international nations, a driver's licence might not be required to purchase the new Honda entry-level electric bikes. The reason for this is that the top speed is 15 mph (approx. 24 kmph). As a result, the range could be less than on typical electric bikes, but thanks to features like fast charging and battery switching, this won't be a problem.

Additionally, Cub, Dax, and Zoomer e come with pedals. Even if the batteries malfunction for any reason or if there is any other issue with them, the bikes can still be used as bikes. Users won't have to invest much effort to run them due to their small profile.

Because of their charming design, Honda's electric bikes are a fantastic choice for Generation Z. Honda makes sure that there are a number of options because the younger generation is more accepting of electric vehicles. New e-bikes from Honda are practical and have a straightforward design. These are most effective for hurried runs over city streets.

Honda’s electrified roadmap for India

There is no official word on when Honda electric bikes will arrive in India. Instead of attempting something novel for the Indian market, Honda appears to have opted for a safer option. The Activa Electric will be Honda's first electric two-wheeler for India when it debuts in January 2024. Atsushi Ogata, MD and CEO of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), has confirmed this.

Bajaj Tackles CNG Tank Safety Issues in Freedom 125 CNG Bike
July 6, 2024

Bajaj has launched the Freedom 125 in India at a starting price of Rs 95,000. It is the world's first CNG bike, and many customers might worry about the safety of having a CNG tank on a bike. Every year, many CNG cars fail, and bikes are more exposed than cars. Bajaj assures that the bike has been thoroughly tested for safety. The manufacturer says the bike has passed 11 different crash and impact tests at their test facility. How Bajaj Tested the New Freedom 125 CNG Bike Bajaj tested the bike from different angles. In the Front Collision Test, the Freedom 125 CNG bike crashed into a 1.5-ton moving barrier at a speed of 60kmph. Moreover, the company also did a Truck Runover Test, where a 10-ton truck was driven over the CNG bike. This test simulates a situation where the rider falls off and the bike gets run over by a truck. In both the Front Collision Test and the Truck Runover Test, the bike handled the impacts well. The CNG tank stayed in place, kept its shape, and did not leak.Bajaj also performed nine other tests: a Frontal Pendulum Test, a Rear Impact Test, a Left Side Impact Test, a Right Side Impact Test, a Vertical Drop Test, a 50kg Filling Unit Strength Test, two types of CNG Valve Impact Tests (to see if the valve breaks on impact), and a 20G Pull Out Test. Impact tests involved hitting the bike with a moving barrier, while drop tests involved dropping the bike from a height. What is Bajaj Providing in Freedom 125 CNG Bike?Bajaj designed the trellis frame and subframe to keep the CNG cylinder safe. These frames act like cages to protect the cylinder from damage in a crash. The engine is also placed away from the CNG cylinder, so the heat from the engine doesn’t affect the CNG tank. This is important because the CNG tank holds pressurized gas, which can expand when it gets hot. When filling the CNG tank, you need to get off the bike and stand at least 5 feet away. This safety measure at CNG fuel stations helps prevent accidents in case the CNG cylinder explodes. Before you go, don’t forget to check out the June 2024 FADA two-wheeler sales report. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb                 Instagram -  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta                 Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

December 17, 2024

The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is a newcomer to India's expanding bobber-style motorcycle market. There are various tough rivals, but it will compete directly with Jawa Perak. In this comprehensive comparison, we'll examine a number of important factors, including engine specs, design, performance, and cost. We are here to assist you in deciding which of these unique bikes provides the greatest value and riding experience. Engine ComparisonThe Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is equipped with a 5-speed transmission and a 349 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is tuned for 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of maximum torque. The Jawa Perak has a 334 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It has a maximum power output of 29 bhp and a maximum torque of 30 Nm. Furthermore, a six-speed transmission powers the gearbox. Specifications ComparisonThe tubeless spoke wheels of the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 are 16 inches in the back and 19 inches in the front. The RE bobber's telescopic forks are further features. Moreover, the ByBre units with dual-channel ABS provide the braking performance. However, the Jawa 42 Bobber and the Jawa Perak are similar. It is equipped with a 240 mm disc in the back and a 280 mm disc up front. Dual-channel ABS is a standard feature. The spoked wheels are 17 and 18 inches in length. Features ComparisonThe Jawa Perak has a stylish analogue instrument console and speedometer. This portion provides a simple yet useful arrangement by displaying crucial info like the fuel level, travel information, and odometer readings. Although it has a similar configuration, the Goan Classic 350 goes one step further by offering a semi-digital instrument console. Design ComparisonDespite their retro-inspired designs, these bikes are distinguished by their distinct characteristics. December 16, 2024

Kawasaki is offering a massive year-end discount of up to Rs 40,000 on the Z900 model. It looks like the brand is planning a significant stock-clearing drive in India. Moreover, the business is currently offering discounts on certain of its popular Ninja series motorbikes. Limited Time OfferThe price cuts vary from Rs 15,000 to Rs 45,000, depending on the motorbike model, and are available till December 31st. Additionally, the savings are only available on motorbikes that are now in stock at the dealers. They won't be extended to more recent models that will be released in the upcoming year. So, it could be the ideal moment to buy a new Kawasaki. One of the most popular powerful bikes in India is the Z900. Indeed, it accounts for a significant portion of Kawasaki's revenues. But because the New Year is only two weeks away and Indian buyers don't purchase new bikes in December, the Japanese automaker has chosen to give the Z900 a Rs 40,000 discount. Originally priced at about Rs 9.38 lakh (ex-showroom), the Z900 is now at Rs 8.98 lakh (ex-showroom) due to the significant reduction. There is a good chance that not all Kawasaki dealerships will have this offer, and it is valid till the supply lasts. Only dealers that have a respectable amount of Z900 inventory will be able to offer this price because it is a stock-clearing sale. An excellent time of year to purchase new bikes and scooters is December. In addition to additional add-ons, there are usually some competitive cash reductions available. Additionally, the majority of companies raise their prices starting in January, making motorcycles and scooters very costly. December is, therefore, the ideal month to purchase a motorbike if you don't worry about the bike's future resale value. Before you go, check out the Top-Selling Motorcycles in India With High Mileage and Low MaintenanceFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

The All-new Bajaj Chetak Likely To Be Launched on 20th Dec
December 16, 2024

On December 20, 2024, Bajaj Auto is expected to launch the upgraded Chetak Electric Scooter. There will be notable improvements in technology, design, and performance. Moreover, it will directly compete with scooters like TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro, and Ather Rizta. The 2025 Bajaj Chetak Electric will be ready to draw in more customers with its retro-modern style and better performance. With its emphasis on affordability and innovation, the brand may make the upgraded Chetak a formidable competitor. Moreover, the all-new model is based on a new chassis for improved durability and performance. Possible New FeaturesAlthough minor design changes were seen in the spy photos leaked online, the overarching retro-modern aesthetic is still present. The body panels show off minor improvements, and to provide customers with more alternatives, new colour choices may be included. A new look is added to the rear portion with reworked tail lights that have a sharper LED pattern. In addition, a monochrome LCD panel will replace the ostentatious TFT in the low-cost Bajaj Chetak. Details on the motor and battery parameters are still awaiting. Therefore, we might observe that the scooter has a range of around 90 to 100 kilometres and a peak speed of about 60 to 70 kilometres per hour. Better Usability and StorageThe possible relocation of the battery pack to the floorboard region is one obvious modification. This would lead to better weight distribution, a lower centre of gravity, and more stability when braking, turning, and performing low-speed turns.  Limited storage capacity is a major issue with the existing Chetak models that Bajaj might be able to solve. The battery might be moved to make under-seat storage better and more useful for everyday use. With this modification, the Chetak may now match rival models with more spacious storage spaces. In addition, the removal of a lockable glove box underneath the front apron is another noticeable feature. The two open storage compartments you have instead appear deep enough to hold a phone and other small goods, such as a wallet. Moreover, the new Chetak uses a traditional ignition key rather than a keyless system. Before you go, check out the KTM 890 Duke R Vs Triumph Street Triple 765 RS: Best Naked Bikes ShowdownFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Fresh details about this highly-anticipated model have surfaced, and the bike has also been spotted undergoing tests again in Europe. Power & PerformanceIn general, the BMW R 1300 RT will be driven by the same 1300cc boxer-twin engine that powers the R 1300 GS. It has a glass windscreen, daytime running lights (DRLs), and an LED headlamp that is stacked vertically. However, the overall fairing design has been modified. The bike still maintains the hefty, intimidating look that touring motorcycles are known for. Additionally, according to spy photos, the R 1300 RT will include a top box and optional panniers, making it perfect for lengthy trips. New Tech-featuresWe anticipate that it will include traction control, ABS settings, and numerous riding modes. A huge TFT display with smartphone connectivity and more on the technological front. Additionally, BMW's renowned telelever suspension will be installed up front, improving handling and comfort while driving. BMW intends to introduce the R 1300 RT to foreign markets by the beginning of 2025.
