Bajaj Auto Finally Unveils Bajaj Dominar 160 & Dominar 200

Published at January 3, 2023 by BikeJunction

In Brazil, Bajaj Auto has introduced the Dominar 160 and Dominar 200. The bikes are essentially rebadged versions of the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and NS 200, which are already offered for purchase in India.

The new Bajaj Dominar 160 and Bajaj Dominar 200 have been formally unveiled by Bajaj Auto. These motorcycles, nevertheless, have just recently been introduced in Brazil, not the Indian market. If one looks closely, these are simply rebranded copies of the Pulsar NS 160 and NS 200, which are currently available in our nation.

What's new in the Bajaj Dominar 160 and Dominar 200?

Bajaj Dominar 160

These motorcycles are not brand-new. Rather, they are nearly identical to the Pulsar NS 200 and NS 160 that are offered for sale in India. With the exception of the installation of USD front forks, these receive essentially identical componentry. The Pulsar NS 160 and NS 200 do not receive USD forks in India.

India-spec Dominar is available with two different engine options, the Dominar 400 and Dominar 250. The Dominar line is marketed by Bajaj as "power cruisers," a name borrowed from the Ducati Diavel. Dominar has powerful engines, bulky and muscular dimensions, and LED illumination.

Bajaj has introduced the Dominar 160 and Dominar 200 in Brazil, which are models made specifically for India's market. Varun Murali, an auto enthusiast, deserves credit for sharing the update. Regarding the Pulsar line, Bajaj is moving in a new direction in India. With the Pulsar N250 and F250, N160, and recently introduced P150, we have observed it.

It is predicted that the N lineup in Bajaj's portfolio will replace the NS lineup. We have witnessed the testing and preparation for the launch of N160 and N125. As we witnessed with P150, the traditional OG Pulsar lineup is said to be converted into the P lineup. In addition, Bajaj may rename the NS range as Dominar for Brazil due to its large global portfolio.

Changes

Bajaj Dominar 200

Brazil-spec, in contrast to the standard telescopic forks seen in the NS range in India, the Bajaj Dominar 200 and Dominar 160 receive USD forks up front. Dominar 160 and Dominar 200 are both offered by Bajaj with a 31 mm and 33 mm USD fork, respectively. The Brazilian Dominar 200 has 0.1 Nm higher torque than the Indian NS200 while sharing the majority of the same specifications.

The Brazilian Bajaj Dominar 200 and Dominar 160 also feature slightly updated artwork, a Dominar 3D logo that replaces the Pulsar emblem on the fuel tank, and a new front mudguard. In addition, Brazil-spec Grimeca-branded brake callipers are also installed on the ends of the Bajaj Dominar 200 and Dominar 160.

Bajaj Dominar 200 & Bajaj Dominar 160 Price in India

The Bajaj Dominar 160 costs 18,680 BRL (Brazilian Real) in Brazil, which is equivalent to about Rs 2,96, 685 INR (Indian Rupee). On the other hand, the retail price for the Dominar 200 is 19,637 BRL (Brazilian Real), which is equivalent to Rs 3,12,142 INR (Indian Rupee). The Pulsar NS 160 and NS 200, on the other hand, start at Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 1.40 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively, in India.

Bajaj Tackles CNG Tank Safety Issues in Freedom 125 CNG Bike
July 6, 2024

Bajaj has launched the Freedom 125 in India at a starting price of Rs 95,000. It is the world's first CNG bike, and many customers might worry about the safety of having a CNG tank on a bike. Every year, many CNG cars fail, and bikes are more exposed than cars. Bajaj assures that the bike has been thoroughly tested for safety. The manufacturer says the bike has passed 11 different crash and impact tests at their test facility. How Bajaj Tested the New Freedom 125 CNG Bike Bajaj tested the bike from different angles. In the Front Collision Test, the Freedom 125 CNG bike crashed into a 1.5-ton moving barrier at a speed of 60kmph. Moreover, the company also did a Truck Runover Test, where a 10-ton truck was driven over the CNG bike. This test simulates a situation where the rider falls off and the bike gets run over by a truck. In both the Front Collision Test and the Truck Runover Test, the bike handled the impacts well. The CNG tank stayed in place, kept its shape, and did not leak.Bajaj also performed nine other tests: a Frontal Pendulum Test, a Rear Impact Test, a Left Side Impact Test, a Right Side Impact Test, a Vertical Drop Test, a 50kg Filling Unit Strength Test, two types of CNG Valve Impact Tests (to see if the valve breaks on impact), and a 20G Pull Out Test. Impact tests involved hitting the bike with a moving barrier, while drop tests involved dropping the bike from a height. What is Bajaj Providing in Freedom 125 CNG Bike?Bajaj designed the trellis frame and subframe to keep the CNG cylinder safe. These frames act like cages to protect the cylinder from damage in a crash. The engine is also placed away from the CNG cylinder, so the heat from the engine doesn’t affect the CNG tank. This is important because the CNG tank holds pressurized gas, which can expand when it gets hot. When filling the CNG tank, you need to get off the bike and stand at least 5 feet away. This safety measure at CNG fuel stations helps prevent accidents in case the CNG cylinder explodes. Before you go, don’t forget to check out the June 2024 FADA two-wheeler sales report. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb                 Instagram -  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta                 Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Cruiser vs Sport Bikes: Understanding the Differences
October 12, 2024

There are two major categories for motorcycle enthusiasts: cruisers and sport bikes. The kind of riding experience attracted by each type of bike differs along with the taste and riding style. Understanding how a cruiser differs from a sport bike can be helpful for a potential buyer to make an informed decision according to their needs. Cruiser and Sport Bikes: Key Differences ExplainedCruisers and sports bikes appeal to the riding experience and style. Cruisers are generally better for a comfortable ride with a classic design that can ride long distances. Sport bikes, on the other hand, are focused on speed and agility. They are designed to be aggressive, giving features that focus more on performance rather than comfort. Thus, knowing this distinction can help one make a wise buying decision on which motorcycle to get. Let us have a look at these two in more detail: Design and AestheticsOne of the most easily noticed differences between cruisers and sport bikes is aesthetic designs. Cruisers like the “Honda Hness CB350” are generally the epitome of low-slung frames, wide seats, and extended front forks. They are typically seen as something of a classic American motorcycle and tend to position the rider in an upright posture, with forward-set foot pegs and a raised handlebar. This, of course, makes for incredibly long rides. They look like a vintage, minimalist take on the whole motorcycle aesthetic, and chrome is often one accent they use, along with a custom finish. On the other hand, sports bikes, such as the Suzuki GSX-8R, are aerodynamic. Their aggressive style features sharp lines, fairings, and a compact frame that enhances speed and use. The riding position on a sports bike is more aggressive, with higher footrests and lower handlebars; the rider boasts a forward-leaning stance. This positioning helps the riders maintain better control when performing manoeuvres at greater speeds. Therefore, sports bikes are favourites in terms of performance. Performance and EnginePerformance is the other important differentiator area. Cruisers such as the “Triumph Bonneville T120” have large engine displacement capacities to provide great levels of torque at relatively low revolutions per minute. This makes them ideal for comfortable, long-distance cruising. It also makes for a very smooth, linear power delivery, which translates into an easy ride down the highway or up country back roads. Popular Cruiser bikes typically feature V-twin engines, which makes the machines sound just the way a bike should. On the other hand, sports bikes like the “Triumph Daytona 660” are manufactured to be as quick and responsive as possible. In other words, they use smaller engines with many more revolutions per minute and much more horsepower to provide extremely rapid acceleration and higher top speeds. Due to its focus on performance, advanced technologies such as fuel injection, traction control, and ABS are usually installed on a sports bike. A sport bike's low weight generally makes it easier to manoeuvre the unit around tight corners and in dynamic riding conditions. Comfort and Riding ExperienceThe biggest difference between the two categories is in comfort. Cruisers like the “Keeway V302C” are ideal for long-distance rides, as they have plush seats and a comfortable riding position. The wide handlebars and low centre of gravity make them stable and comfortable to ride on, which is ideal for those who need to spend all day on their bike or travel across the country. On the other hand, sports bikes, such as the “Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R,” are for aggressive ride styling, though they are uncomfortable for long rides. It would be tiring if the position held out longer in the ride but is appreciable in high-speed cornering and braking performances. For those seeking adrenaline and thrilling performance, the sports bike is better than comfort riders. In this case, its abilities indeed far outweigh its comfort sacrifices. Target MarketThe audience for cruisers and sports bikes also differs. Cruisers appeal to those who like old styling, a laid-back riding experience, and nostalgia. They also appeal to riders looking for an enjoyable, relaxed ride, often to a more mature demographic. Sport bikes, on the other hand, are more for the younger crowd and those thrill-seekers who would want to experience high performance. The riders who go after speed, agility, and handling, even to explore twisty roads, will always find comfort in these sports bikes. These are the bikes that show up all the time at track days and racing events, making them a haven for enthusiasts who thrive on competition and the challenge of being pushed beyond boundaries. Before you go, have a look at the ZELIO Ebikes Launches, the Eeva ZX+ in IndiaFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Best for Daily Commute: BMW CE 02 vs BMW CE 04
October 12, 2024

In the generation of environmental concerns and electric mobility, BMW continues to innovate its electric scooter offerings. The BMW CE 02 and the BMW CE 04 reside within this lineup. Both models are aimed at the urban commuter interested in a stylish and 'green' ride, but they tend to cater to slightly different preferences and needs. This comparison will help you decide which one suits you better. Why choose Electric Scooters? An electric scooter is an amazing, green choice for its rider, with zero emissions, lower operating costs, and reduced noise pollution compared to a traditional vehicle. Electric scooters make urban commuting easy and efficient with available charging options as well as lightweight designs, encouraging sustainability in people's lifestyles. Design and StyleBMW CE 02 has a compact and youthful design that attracts younger riders. Minimalist and retro-styled, it has a round headlight and a flat seat and carries out an exclusive frame that embodies agility and fun. In contrast, the BMW CE 04 stands out for its sharp lines, sleek body, and more modern aesthetic, which gives it the feel of an urban presence. BMW CE 04 can guarantee to stand out, so if you appreciate being cutting-edge, this may be the right bike for you. Performance and PowertrainBMW CE 02, talking about performance, it comes with a 3.92 kWh battery whose peak output has been rated to be 11 kW. That would help a top speed of about 95 km/h, a feat of making it relatively more powerful for the riding requirement.  Adversely, the BMW CE 04 is significantly smaller and has a higher 8.9 Kwh battery capacity; it will deliver 31000 W and a top speed of 120 Km/h. While the CE 02 will be suitable for commuting in a city and allow easy passage through traffic, city commutes can be stressful at times.  Range and Charging Time:BMW CE 02 comes with a range of 55 Km/Chg, thus providing an amazing riding experience. This is perfect for longer commutes or weekend rides. Plugged to the standard outlet, charging time takes 5 hours and gets fully charged.  Alternatively, the BMW CE 04 offers a 130 Km/Chg range. However, charging times is 4 Hours 20 minutes, which is almost the same, making it great for regular city usage and daily commuting. In addition, both scooters come with rapid-charging options so that riders can recharge on the go with ease and quickness during breaks. Technology and FeaturesBoth scooters have been equipped with modern technology for a better riding experience. BMW CE 02 has a more simplified display for key information and user-friendly connectivity features. Although it misses some high-tech elements of the CE 04, the CE 02 really focuses on straightforward riding, thus making it less intimidating for a new rider. Contrasted with this, the BMW CE 04 is equipped with a wide-angle TFT display. This display provides essential information at a glance, including navigation, battery status, and connectivity with the BMW Motorrad app. Furthermore, in terms of features, the BMW CE 04 comes full of high-tech features like ABS, traction control, and riding modes to suit any weather conditions. Price and ValuePrice is one of the most important determinants for most customers. BMW CE 02 offers a budget-friendly price range of ₹ 4.50 Lakh. Based on the cost and the requirements that the customer is looking to fulfill, this may also be one of the deciding factors for a customer.  On the other hand, the BMW CE 04 is pricey, with a starting price of ₹ 14.90 Lakh, but it comes, as reported, with highly advanced features and performance capabilities.  Before you go, have a look at the Weekly 2-Wheeler Update: 2025 KTM 200 Duke, Suzuki GSX-8R launch, and More!Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

October 11, 2024

The new Yamaha R9 gets the same 890cc in-line 3-cylinder as the MT-09, along with a host of new advanced electronics. Yamaha has been updating its supersport portfolio and very recently updated the YZF-R3 for MY25. But more importantly, it has taken the wraps off the Yamaha R9, a whole new chapter in supersport motorcycles that promises category-defining, class-leading design from enhanced aerodynamics. New Yamaha R9The all-new Yamaha R9 will finally satisfy the demands of supersport enthusiasts for cornering speed. The motorcycle is focused on bringing excitement to the track for several international markets. Priced at USD 12,499, which is around Rs 10.5 lakh, the R9 can be purchased in the USA market and is likely to reach other countries soon. Striking Design and Aerodynamic Excellence of the Yamaha R9Yamaha R9 will be available in three colors: Team Yamaha Blue, Matte Raven Black, and Intensity White/Redline. However, the Intensity White/Redline model displays subtle graphics, while that model boasts bold decals. The Team Yamaha Blue even includes blue alloy wheels; the other two have black wheels. The R9's track performance is powered by its CP3 engine and lightweight Deltabox Gravity Cast aluminium frame, making it Yamaha's lightest supersport chassis to date. With a 50:50 weight distribution, the R9 promises excellent agility and handling that make the motorcycle more accessible to a wide range of riders. This bike follows Yamaha's latest R-Series styling with an M-shaped front duct, angular LED DRLs, and functional aerodynamic winglets that draw design inspiration from MotoGP machines. These also help clean the airflow and deliver additional downforce for better high-speed handling. For the rider, the motorcycle comes fitted with a TFT colour display featuring various functions. Electronics and Engine SpecificationsThe Yamaha R9 comes fitted with a new 6-axis IMU, which enables 9-level Traction Control, 3-level Slide Control, 3-level Lift Control, and a system called Brake Control. Other key electronics include 4-level Power Delivery Mode, 2-level Engine Brake Management, Variable Speed Limiter, Yamaha Ride Control, Back Slip Regulator, cruise control, and Launch Control. The powertrain in the R9 is shared with the MT-09: an 890cc DOHC 4V/cylinder liquid-cooled inline 3-cylinder. Moreover, the engine churns out about 120 PS of peak power and torque of about 93 Nm, routed to terra firma via a 6-speed gearbox. Front suspension is by fully adjustable 43mm KYB USD front forks, while at the rear, there's an adjustable KYB rear mono-shock. Stopping comes courtesy of dual 320mm front discs with Brembo Stylema callipers. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels on Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport tyres, in sizes 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear. Before you go, have a look at the Get ready for the 31 October: Unveiling of KTM 990 Duke RFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Get ready for the 31 October: Unveiling of KTM 990 Duke R
October 10, 2024

Finally, the highly anticipated KTM 990 Duke R is going to be officially unveiled on 31 October; it will be an important addition to the KTM. The latest Duke R boasts a potent 947cc engine with further improved performance and aggressive styling. Spy shots and leaks indicate that there will be enhanced aerodynamics, suspension, and braking components. This, on paper, will make it a formidable contender in the middleweight naked class. KTM followers who appreciate the company's trademark style and performance will be thrilled to witness exactly how the 990 Duke R performs. This model extends the brand's reputation for high-performance motorcycles. Quick Highlights:Unveiling date is set for 31 OctoberFeatures a powerful 947cc liquid-cooled engineExpected to be lighter than the standard modelEnhanced aerodynamics and suspension componentsSignature KTM orange paint scheme included KTM India has revealed the unveiling dates for five of its upcoming motorcycles, including the 990 Duke R. The bike will debut internationally on 31 October, along with a few other models in the same week. Performance and Features of the 990 Duke RWe recently carried out a detailed report on the 990 Duke R road-testing on a racetrack. The motorcycle will draw power from the same 947cc parallel twin LC8c, which will produce 128 bhp and a peak torque of 103 Nm. The 'R' version, however, develops a bit more power and higher revs compared to the standard one, churning out 123 bhp at 9,500 rpm. Besides, it is expected that KTM will continue with another exhaust configuration, which again will raise the performance but with reduced weight. KTM is attempting to shave around 4 kg of weight off the standard 990 Duke. In short, the standard 990 Duke weighs 179 kg, which for the R version should be around 175 kg. Of course, that might not sound like a lot, but the added grunt of the R gives it a decent power-to-weight ratio. This could be achieved through lighter wheels, fully adjustable WP springs, and Brembo brakes. True to KTM’s signature style, the 990 Duke R will feature an orange paint scheme. While KTM may introduce the 990 Duke in India, it's unlikely that the R variant will be available in the country. Before you leave, take a look at the Celebrate the Season: TVS Launched Festive Offers on Two-WheelersFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
