KTM has unveiled the 990 Duke R worldwide, which is more potent and better equipped than its standard model. The new version has a 947cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 130bhp and 103Nm and a six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter.  Advanced electronic rider aids, including multiple ride modes and traction control, support it. The 8.8-inch TFT screen supports smartphone connectivity. Furthermore, the 990 Duke R will sport adjustable WP suspension, premium braking components, and Michelin Power Cup 2 tyres. In terms of technology, it is certainly something new because of all that was put in the R-version. It has been further combined with more refined everything, and all in an elite package compared to a standard 990 Duke R.  Design, Performance, and FeaturesKTM 990 Duke R bodywork is nearly identical to that of the standard model. It has a projector LED headlight centered and two boomerang-shaped LED turn indicators mounted on it. It also has sharply designed fuel tanks with extensions, a split seat, and a rear cowl. Further, the KTM has retained the same 947cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine for its other model, but it develops a remarkable 130bhp and 103Nm of torque—7bhp more than the regular 990 Duke. That said, it is fitted with a six-speed transmission and a quickshifter. The bike boasts a total weight of 179kg. The bike has powerful electronic rider aids that handle its 130 hp power. A host of ride modes are available, including rain, street, sport, and custom/track, as well as launch control, traction control, and ABS modes. All features are available through the switch cubes and the new horizontal 8.8-inch TFT display. Additionally, the KTM app features smartphone connectivity. Advanced Hardware and Wheel SpecificationsThere's also hardware in the form of fully adjustable WP front forks and a monoshock. Twin 300mm front discs and one 240mm rear disc finish the look. Like all 990/1190 models, a huge portion of the overall system consists of 17-inch wheels, with Michelin Power Cup 2 tyres in the 120/70 at the front and on 180/55 spec at the back. KTM has introduced the 990 Duke R internationally; however, it is unlikely to be available in India. Hero MotoCorp, the world’s top motorcycle and scooter maker, saw a slight increase in October 2024. Moreover, the exports also grew significantly, rising by 43.02%, with 21,688 units sold compared to 15,164 units in October 2023. Motorcycle sales increased by 20.11%, from 529,341 in October 2023 to 635,787 in October 2024. CFMoto has provided a preview of its 675 NK, which is said to debut at EICMA 2024. The motorcycle promises to incorporate the new design, power, and all-new tech. This motorcycle is the street-oriented variant of the CFMoto 675 SR-R. Sneak Peek at Design and PerformanceThe Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto released a teaser image of the CFMoto 675 NK, offering a first glimpse at its design. The styling includes bold, sharp cuts, creases, and even floating body panels. It will be powered by the same 674cc inline-triple-cylinder engine powering the 675 SR-R supersport. The engine is modified to produce 95bhp, the same as the fully-faired version. However, CFMoto may fiddle with the final drive ratio to make it better suited for a streetfighter. Leaked documents also show that the 675 NK will reach a top speed of 200 km/h. The same steel bridge frame as the 675 SR-R will be used, and it is also 6 kg lighter than the supersport version, which has a total kerb weight of 189 kg.
