After the release of the Super Meteor 650, Royal Enfield has made the most substantial enhancements to the Interceptor 650. Since the debut of the Interceptor 650 in 2019, RE has designed the motorcycle more practical and aspirational.
Let’s check out five key variations between the updated Interceptor 650 and the previous model.
Comparing the Wheelbase of both versions
For years, Indian buyers have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Interceptor 650 with alloy wheels. Finally, their wait is over. The new Interceptor 650 now features the same 18-inch alloy wheels(tubeless tyres) as the Super Meteor 650.
These new tubeless tyres will make the ride more convenient. Further, it also eliminates the fear of being stranded due to a puncture which was a nightmare on the old spoke wheels.
One significant challenge of repairing a puncture on the previous Interceptor model was the hot exhaust. It would always have complicated the process of removing the wheels for repair work.
Which bike’s Headlight is better?
Interceptor 650 has been equipped with an LED headlight. The new Interceptor replaced the halogen setup on the previous model.
While the previous setup was adequate. It's always gratifying to see Royal Enfield motorcycles outfitted with modern technology. The brand is expected to offer the LED headlight as an accessory for current Interceptor 650 owners. This could potentially become one of the most popular accessories sold by the company.
Which bike has a USB charging port?
The Interceptor 650 has been updated to include a USB charging port. The port is located on the left side of the switchgear, just like the one on the Meteor 350. This new feature allows riders to conveniently charge their devices, especially during extended rides.
What’s added in Switchgear?
A rotary dial button has been added to the new Interceptor 650 by the brand. The new switchgear helps in controlling the low and high beams as well as ignition. This feature was initially introduced on the Meteor 350 and subsequently on the Super Meteor 650.
Check out the new Colour theme
Two additional colours, black and blue, have been introduced for the Interceptor 650. Further, they are anticipated to be offered alongside the existing seven colour choices. The prices for these variations have not been disclosed. But it is expected that the inclusion of new features will result in a significant increase over the current model.
