2023 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Just Launched in India: 5 Things to Know!

After Royal Enfield launched the updated Continental GT 650 in the UK last month, the company has now launched it in India. RE Continental GT 650 in India has a starting price of Rs 3.19 lakh and goes up to Rs 3.45 lakh. Let’s now take a look at the top 5 highlights of this new bike.

2023 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650: Design

RE revamped the colour schemes for the new 2023 model. This middleweight cafe racer bike is now available in 2 new black-coloured versions - Apex Grey and Slipstream Blue. These colour palettes will be sold beside the Mr Clean, Dux Deluxe, British Racing Green and Rocker Red colour themes that were already sold in the Indian market. 

The new black variants of the 2023 model will feature a black-coloured engine and exhaust system. These variants will further feature cast alloy wheels that are shod in tubeless tyres. The rest of the variants will get the 18-inch wire-spoke wheels wrapped in tube-type tyres. 

2023 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650: New Features

Royal Enfield has upgraded a list of features for its 2023 Continental GT 650 model. Some of these include

• New LED headlight instead of the old halogen one.
• New switchgear, similar to the Super Meteor 650.
• Redesigned saddle for better comfort. 
• USB Charging port 

However, there are a few things RE has not changed. Some of which are

• Halogen-styled taillight
• Twin-pod instrument cluster
• Dual-channel ABS 

2023 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650: Mechanical Specifications

The new 2023 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 gets the same 647.95cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine that belts out 46.8bhp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 52.3Nm at 5,150rpm. The engine has a fuel injection system and a single overhead camshaft that powers the bike. The parallel-twin engine is tuned to a 6-speed gearbox.

2023 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650: Hardware

The 2023 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 retains the same hardware as the previous model. Therefore, the standard colour-themed models get the same 18-inch wire-spoke wheels. It is built around a steel tubular double cradle frame. For suspension, the bike comes with telescopic front forks and preload-adjustable twin rear springs. 

The bike anchors power from a single 320mm disc fitted at the front and a single 240mm rotor fitted at the rear. Other measurements include 214kg of kerb weight, 174mm of ground clearance, and a 12.5-litre fuel tank.
