Suzuki GSX-8R vs Triumph Daytona 660: Which is Better?
Suzuki GSX-8R vs Triumph Daytona 660: Which is Better?
CalendarPublished on October 15, 2024 by BikeJunction
Suzuki has launched the middle-weight sportbike GSX-8R in India. The bike, priced at Rs. 9.25 lakh, is pretty attractive, especially when we consider the Triumph Daytona 660. The 660 is a pricey offering with a much smaller engine, but that's more than just the displacement this time. Let's see how things fare for this middle-weight sportbike. Why choose among these Bikes? It will depend on which kind of ride you prefer between the Suzuki GSX-8R and the Triumph Daytona 660. The former is powered by a powerful twin-cylinder to deliver great torque, while the latter packs a high-revving triple to provide more power. Nonetheless, both bikes offer solid sportbike performance with advanced features and stylish designs. Design and Aesthetics:This design is from the 675cc for the Triumph Daytona 660, along with wide LED headlamps and a middle air intake. In contrast, the Suzuki GSX-8R side fairings are angular and drawn from the GSX-R1000, with a solid fuel tank and a very short but upswept tail section. Features:Most of the features of both the bikes are common. Daytona 660 has an LCD-TFT instrument cluster, which also provides Bluetooth connectivity. The Suzuki GSX-8R also has a colour LCD console and connectivity. Ride-by-wire, along with multi-level traction control, multiple riding modes, and dual-channel ABS, is available in all. Notably, this quick bi-directional shift is standard in Suzuki, where it is optional in the case of Daytona 660 from Triumph. Engine Configuration:That's where the two different bikes have greatly diverse features: cylinder configuration, power, and torque. Suzuki GSX-8R has a 776cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine that has a 270-degree crank. It produced 81.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm peak torque at 6,800rpm.  In contrast, the Daytona is a 660cc inline triple-cylinder. It produces a lower rate of torque at 69Nm but better power at 80bhp. Equipped as standard with a six-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch, both engines can transfer their maximum of 10,250 rpm to the rear wheels. SuspensionsTriumph Daytona 660 has a steel perimeter frame with non-adjustable 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD front forks and a Showa monoshock with preload adjustment. Braking is esnured to twin 310mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc, the latter with switchable ABS and Triumph-branded callipers at both ends.  However, the Suzuki GSX-8R has a steel diamond frame with Showa suspension at both ends, though non-adjustable at the front, while the rear preload can be adjusted. It has an initial braking setup of a dual 310mm front disc with a single 240mm rear disc. Price TagsSuzuki has priced the GSX-8R at Rs. 9.25 lakh making it usually more affordable than the Triumph Dayton 660, which is tagged at Rs. 9.72 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).Before you go, have a look at the Honda unveils new Forza 125, Forza 300 scooters, Forza 750 maxi-scooterFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

Suzuki has finally launched the GSX-8R officially in India at a price of ₹9.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The middle-weight sportbike will be seen in two dazzling colours, namely silver and black. For the most part, the competition for the GSX-8R would include the likes of Triumph Daytona 660, Kawasaki Ninja 650, and Aprilia RS660. While designing for this brand shows off modern aesthetics by giving it a compact LED headlamp and angular fairings, this time, it incorporates advanced features in the shape of ride-by-wire, traction control, and bi-directional quickshifter. The 776cc twin-cylinder powered bike promises very exhilarating performance and agile handling.  Highlights:Priced at ₹9.25 lakh (ex-showroom).Available in silver and black colors.Competes with Triumph Daytona 660 and Ninja 650.Features ride-by-wire, traction control, and quickshifter.Powered by a 776cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine.Suzuki has launched the GSX-8R in India, the newest mid-weight sportbike, with an ex-showroom price of ₹ 9.25 lakh. The motorcycle comes in two colours: silver and black. It is aimed at competing with models like Triumph Daytona 660, Kawasaki Ninja 650, and Aprilia RS660.  Innovative Design and Performance Features Suzuki GSX-8R is a good example of Suzuki's modern design. A compact, vertically stacked LED headlamp sits alongside sleek air intakes. From side-on, angular fairings seem to combine seamlessly into the heavy-duty fuel tank, ending in a rather short and stubby tail section. As for its feature list, it is well-loaded, for there is ride-by-wire technology, low RPM assist, traction control, bi-direction quickshifter, multiple ride modes, ABS, and an easy start system.  A 776cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree crankshaft serves as the core of the diamond-style frame. It produces 81.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm of max torque, which comes in at 6,800rpm. Additionally, a six-speed gearbox gets an assist and slipper clutch that prevents the rear wheel from locking up under engine braking.   While the bike runs on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels with Dunlop RoadSport 2 rubber, the suspension is provided through the Showa SFF-BP forks and a linked rear shock. Dual 310mm front discs and a single 240mm rear disc provide stopping power. The bike has a 14-litre fuel tank capacity and weighs 205 kg.Before you leave, have a look at the Introducing Redesigned KTM 200 Duke in India Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
