Suzuki has finally launched the GSX-8R officially in India at a price of ₹9.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The middle-weight sportbike will be seen in two dazzling colours, namely silver and black. For the most part, the competition for the GSX-8R would include the likes of Triumph Daytona 660, Kawasaki Ninja 650, and Aprilia RS660. While designing for this brand shows off modern aesthetics by giving it a compact LED headlamp and angular fairings, this time, it incorporates advanced features in the shape of ride-by-wire, traction control, and bi-directional quickshifter. The 776cc twin-cylinder powered bike promises very exhilarating performance and agile handling.

Innovative Design and Performance Features

Suzuki GSX-8R is a good example of Suzuki's modern design. A compact, vertically stacked LED headlamp sits alongside sleek air intakes. From side-on, angular fairings seem to combine seamlessly into the heavy-duty fuel tank, ending in a rather short and stubby tail section. As for its feature list, it is well-loaded, for there is ride-by-wire technology, low RPM assist, traction control, bi-direction quickshifter, multiple ride modes, ABS, and an easy start system.

A 776cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree crankshaft serves as the core of the diamond-style frame. It produces 81.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm of max torque, which comes in at 6,800rpm. Additionally, a six-speed gearbox gets an assist and slipper clutch that prevents the rear wheel from locking up under engine braking.

While the bike runs on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels with Dunlop RoadSport 2 rubber, the suspension is provided through the Showa SFF-BP forks and a linked rear shock. Dual 310mm front discs and a single 240mm rear disc provide stopping power. The bike has a 14-litre fuel tank capacity and weighs 205 kg.
