Royal Enfield has launched the much-anticipated Guerrilla 450, priced between Rs 2.39 - 2.54 Lakh (ex-showroom). You choose from three variants, including Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Analogue, Guerrilla 450 Dash, and Guerrilla 450 Flash. The Guerrilla 450 stands out because it is different from other bikes. While many small motorcycles look and perform similarly, the Guerrilla 450 is unique. It doesn’t follow the same patterns as other bikes. Instead, it brings new features to the Royal Enfield lineup. In this review, we will explore the performance and features of the Guerrilla 450.
The Guerrilla 450 is different from older Royal Enfield bikes. Its round headlamp and instruments remind you of other Royal Enfields. However, it looks more like a Ducati Scrambler, especially from the front. The design is nice and well-balanced. It’s also big, so it stands out on the road.
The paint schemes are also good. Royal Enfield has great paint choices and the Guerrilla’s colors are very attractive. This includes Smoke, Playa Black, Gold Dip and more, making the bike more appealing.
RE Guerrilla 450 has a new liquid-cooled 452cc engine called the Sherpa. In the history of 124 years, it is the brand’s first liquid-cooled engine. All the previous engines were air and oil-cooled. The bike uses a 42mm ride-by-wire throttle body and electronic fuel injection. It has a wet multiplate slip/assist clutch and a six-speed gearbox. The Guerrilla 450 produces 40 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of torque.
With a simple turn of the start dial, the Guerrilla 450 starts quickly with a nice steady thump. The new Sherpa engine feels more modern and different from the old model. When you twist the throttle, it responds quickly and smoothly. Moreover, changing gears is smooth and intuitive, and the clutch feels predictable and easy to use.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has two ride modes: Performance and Eco. Eco mode saves fuel by reducing power. There are two dashboard options. The base model has an analogue display with a small screen and a Tripper navigation pod. The better option is the 4-inch Tripper TFT screen. It has three display layouts: Analogue, Digital, and Navigation. Each shows different information, such as speed, gear, and maps.
The screen is easy to read. You can connect your phone to the Tripper Dash using the Royal Enfield app for navigation. The bike has a USB-C port for charging your phone.
Although the Guerrilla 450 looks similar to the Himalayan, they are different. Both have a steel tube frame with the engine as part of the frame, but their frame dimensions vary, including:
The bike comes with a 43mm Showa fork at the front and a rear monoshock with adjusted preload. Moreover, both wheels of Guerrilla 450 are made of aluminium. The tyres are Ceat Gripp XL, including 120/70R-17 at the front and 160/60R-17 at the rear.
