Royal Enfield has shown its first-ever electric motorcycle, the ElectriK01. It is expected to be officially introduced by the end of 2025. Moreover, this Royal Enfield electric bike might be available for purchase in 2026.
Design patents have revealed the look of the ElectriK01. The bike has a retro style combined with an electric motor. Earlier reports and leaked images had already hinted at its name and appearance. Now, with the patents, we get a full view of the motorcycle, which has some interesting and unique features.
Royal Enfield ElectriK01 looks like a classic bobber. It has its raked front end, solo seat, and exposed rear fender. Though it appears to be a single-seater, the saree guard hints at a pillion-seat option. Its design features new and classic elements, with the front suspension and tail section inspired by Royal Enfield's Classic range.
The bike has a unique chassis with a frame looping over the ‘fuel tank’ area, a rare feature in production motorcycles. This Royal Enfield motorcycle features a round headlight, circular turn indicators, and a tear-drop-shaped “tank,”. While the electric motor's specs are unknown, it likely uses a chain or belt drive for the rear wheel.
Last year, Royal Enfield showed off an electric adventure motorcycle in Milan. The company's boss, Siddhartha Lal, said they are carefully working on electric bikes. In 2022, Royal Enfield bought over 10% of Stark Future, a Spanish electric motocross bike company. It shows they plan to work together for a long time.
We don't know the official name of this bike yet, but it’s called the ElectriK01 for now. Royal Enfield might use an old brand name for this bike like they did with the Super Meteor.
