The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 was recently sighted in India in its upgraded configuration. The bike was spotted for the second time in India. However, the motorbike was spotted testing in public beside a KTM 390 Duke.
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is expected to feature an updated engine similar to the new-generation 390 Duke. This revised engine can have a displacement increase from 373cc to 398cc for improved performance.
Additionally, the Svartpilen 401 is set to receive several other updates, including a new chassis, lighter alloys, an offset monoshock, and a right-side disc brake. The change in the braking setup, from the left to the right side, can also be seen in the new Triumph Speed 400.
The suspension is modern and adjustable, exactly like the incoming 390 Duke. With road-biased Metzeler rubber tyres, it now rides on alloy wheels rather than spoke rims. All of these changes transform it into a roadster rather than a scrambler.
The new Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is expected to debut in a production-ready state later this year. It will follow the launch of the new-generation KTM 390 Duke. However, it will be priced slightly lower than the KTM, similar to the positioning of the Husqvarna 250 models in India. The spied Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 will likely launch at the end of this year.
