In this article, we'll focus on the Wakizashi. In the past news at BikeJunction, you read about the four custom-built TVS Ronin being unveiled at the MotoSoul 2023. Wakizashi is one of those four bikes.
The Rajputana customs from Rajasthan constructed this motorcycle model by removing the original Ronin design and incorporating several aftermarket components. To provide an example, the original LED headlight has been substituted with a halogen unit.
The Ronin by TVS no longer has its wide handlebar, as it has been replaced by a lower set of clip-ons. Additionally, Rajputana Customs has modified the motorcycle by removing the rear seat and replacing it with a single floating seat for the rider. So, this is now the only seating option available on the bike.
Although the new fuel tank on the Wakizashi appears to have a shape that is somewhat similar to the factory unit. It does appear to be slightly larger. The tank's brushed finish is nicely paired with a 3D badge and a newly designed fuel lid. Another modification to the motorcycle includes the removal of the round instrument console from the stock bike.
Although the switch cube layout appears to be unchanged, the brake and clutch levers on the motorcycle have been replaced with aftermarket options that are adjustable.
Although there isn't much information available regarding updates to the engine. It's worth noting that the Wakizashi is still powered by the same 225 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine as the stock bike. Its powerful engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. TVS has fine-tuned this engine to deliver 20.1 bhp and 19.93 Nm in its original form.
In addition to other modifications, Rajputana Customs has installed a new exhaust on the motorcycle. The new exhaust is noticeably shorter than the factory unit and appears to have better flow.
Although this custom-built Ronin also features a mono-shock. The unit installed on it appears to be distinct from the one used by TVS. As a result, the motorcycle's overall ride quality may differ depending on its specific setup.
Finally, it's worth noting that the Wakizashi is equipped with new spoked wheels. Further, the wheels are paired with larger Dunlop tires. The addition of these components, along with other mechanical modifications, is likely to result in a significant difference. You may feel the difference in the motorcycle's handling compared to the stock TVS Ronin.
Additionally, the motorcycle's ride triangle has been adjusted. It means that riders will need to adopt a more committed riding posture, similar to that of a supersport, when riding the Rajputana-built bike.
