Indian Motorcycles has finally pulled the covers off of its new limited edition “ELITE” variants of its Chieftain & Pursuit models. The two models feature multiple upgrades replacing their standard counterparts. In contrast to the Chieftain, which is already being offered in the Elite version, the Indian Pursuit Elite is now being introduced as well. It receives a lot of cosmetic updates and is only available in 150 units worldwide. With contrasting Shadow Bronze Chrome highlights, Super Graphite Metallic and Black Metallic paint are used to finish the Pursuit Elite. A new design for the alloy wheels is included, along with bronze Elite badging on the tank, bronze stitching on the seats, and more. The 1768 cc, liquid-cooled V-twin engine drives the Indian Pursuit Elite, producing 122 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. The Pursuit Elite retails for $39,999 (about Rs 32.83 lakh) in the USA. However, the prices in India are yet to be disclosed by the brand. We expect that the brand will launch in India in the coming months, but nothing can be said about the timeline for the same.The Chieftain Elite will be available in India but is limited to 175 units globally. What sets the Elite model apart are the 10-spoke alloy wheels and the iconic Indian Logo on the floorboards. In addition, it features a Super Graphite Smoke paint with contrasting Shadow Bronze elements that give the bike a unique appearance. The Chieftain Elite is fitted with an 1890 cc, air-cooled V-twin engine that delivers a massive torque of 171 Nm of peak torque. In the US, the bike comes with a price tag of $35,499 (around Rs 29.13 lakh). For 2023, Indian has added the Sport Chief as a new, sportier model to its Chief lineup of cruiser motorcycles. It has the same 1,890cc Thunderstroke 116 ci engine as its siblings, but it also has a number of performance-enhancing components and more aggressive aesthetic elements.It will be the only model in Indian’s Chief lineup to include an upside-down 43mm KYB front fork is the Sport Chief. Although it isn't adjustable, its 28-degree rake and 111mm trail statistics are sharper than the rest of the Chief range's 29.5-degree rake and 131.5mm trail values.Its twin Fox shock absorbers may be added as an option to other Chief models and have remote compression and rebound adjustments. Moreover, these Fox components give Sport Chief an additional 25mm of travel, giving it a total of 100mm (as opposed to 75mm on other Chief models). Dual Brembo monoblock brakes that are positioned radially at the front, as opposed to the axially mounted units on the other Chief bikes, are another area where its sports objective is apparent.With a small visor perched above the front bikini fairing, larger handlebars mounted on 6-inch risers, and the majority of its bodywork covered in a blacked-out finish, the Sport Chief has a significantly more aggressive design. Its 686mm seat height makes it incredibly convenient.The Sport Chief is equipped with a 15.1-litre fuel tank, three riding modes (Sport, Tour, and Standard), 19-/16-inch wheels (front/rear), and Pirelli Night Dragon tyres, just like the rest of the Chief lineup. The Sport Chief weighs 311 kg when fully fueled. The 1,890cc air-cooled V-Twin engine of the Indian Sport Chief produces its maximum torque of 162Nm at just 3,200 rpm and is paired with a 6-speed transmission.In Indian's lineup, the Sport Chief is positioned above the Chief Dark Horse. Priced at $18,999 for the Sport Chief and $17,999 for the Chief Dark Horse, respectively.
