Introducing the BMW R1300 GS Adventure
CalendarPublished on July 6, 2024 by BikeJunction
The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure has made its world debut. Branded as the ‘Adventure’ variant of the BMW R 1300 GS, it has a bigger fuel tank and other standard features designed to handle extensive road trips effortlessly. Here’s a closer look at its features.      Highlights:- A 30-litre aluminium fuel tank- Gets new Automated Shift Assistant (ASA)- India launch expected in a few months      Design     The R 1300 GS Adventure offers a distinctive visual appearance from the R 1300 GS. Unlike the latter's sleek and compact design, the squared edges of the headlights, fuel tank, tailpiece, and lower part are prominent in the 'GS Adventure, 'making it challenging and practical.      A standout feature is the distinctive 30-litre aluminium fuel tank, which is central to the bike's design. The tank extension blends in well and adds a great appearance, enhancing the motorcycle’s impressive front end. Compared to the R 1300 GS, it has a great road presence.      Features and tech   BMW has equipped the R 1300 GS with a host of standard features. These features include full LED headlights with auxiliary lights, dynamic traction control, radar-based adaptive cruise control, and front and rear collision warning. It also has a smartphone charging compartment with an integrated USB socket and a 12V onboard power socket.      The highlight is the new Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) on display on the bike. It incorporates two electromechanical actuators to automate clutch control and gear shifting, greatly reducing the need for frequent gear changes and rider fatigue.      Engine   The R 1300 GS Adventure is powered by a 1,300cc Boxer twin engine producing 145bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm at 6,500rpm. It's paired with a six-speed gearbox and offers four riding modes—eco, rain, road, and enduro—to match the level of traction, control and intervention in power delivered.      Hardware  The bike has a sheet metal main frame and an aluminium lattice tube rear frame, supported by BMW’s Telelever and Paralever EVO suspension units. It offers electronic suspension adjustment with standard dynamic suspension adjustment (DSA). This system dynamically changes the front and rear damping and spring rate depending on the riding mode selected for optimum ride comfort and efficiency.      Variants and launchThe BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is available in four models: Basic, Triple Black, GS Trophy, and Option 710 Karakorum. It is expected to make its debut in India in the coming months and will be priced between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 26 lakh, ex-showroom.Before you go, do visit the FADA Sales Report June 2024: 2-Wheeler Sales Increased By 4.66%, 1,375,889 Units Sold     Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb                     Instagram -  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta                     Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
BMW R 1300 GS Review: Better Than R 1250 GS or Not?
BMW R 1300 GS Review: Better Than R 1250 GS or Not?
CalendarPublished on June 14, 2024 by BikeJunction
BMW Motorrad has finally launched the new R 1300 GS adventure tourer motorcycle in the Indian market. Many are eager to know how it performs compared to the R1250 GS, which has been a top choice for adventure bikes for years.  The R1300GS is built on a new platform with a new engine, more technology, and more variants. It is lighter, more powerful, and packed with advanced features. We have covered this article to help you know about the performance of the newly launched BMW adventure motorcycle.  Let’s know about all the things you need to know about the BMW R1300 GS bike before buying it:  BMW R1300 GS Review: How’s the Design & Appearance? The biggest change BMW made to the new R 1300 GS is in its design. This new look is a major shift from the old GS models, which might be tough for long-time owners to accept. The new R1300 GS is slimmer, more compact, and looks more accessible than the R1250GS. Indeed, the new design aims to make the bike look less intimidating and more appealing to younger riders.  Moreover, the company is now offering the R 1300 GS in three variants: Style Triple Black, Style GS Trophy, and 719 Tramuntana. Apart from this, it is also available in 4 colour options, including Light White, GS Trophy, Option GS Tramuntana, and Triple Black.  The front has a new look with fancy LED lights. From the side, the bike has a clean shell design for better aerodynamics, though it still looks big due to its 19-litre fuel tank and large tank shrouds. The aluminium subframe at the rear adds a smart, sharp look.  BMW R1300 GS Review: Rides Smoothly or Not?BMW has made big changes to the R 1300 GS, making it more powerful and 6kg lighter. It has a 1300cc engine that produces 149 Nm of torque. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 225 km/h. It also offers good fuel efficiency at 21 km/l with a 19-litre tank.  The gearbox is placed under the engine, making it compact. This engine is very smooth and powerful, performing well even at high altitudes. The six-speed gearbox has a tall fifth and sixth gear, with smooth shifts and a light clutch.  The suspension system, called the EVO telelever, provides great handling and confidence in corners. The bike feels well-balanced, even at low speeds. However, the rear suspension was bouncy in the standard setting but improved in dynamic mode. The seat, though, was stiff and not as comfortable as the R 1250 GS.  The new design includes a sleek front, LED headlamp, and a lighter frame. It is 12 kg lighter than the R 1250 GS. The bike has strong brakes with 310mm discs, offering great stopping power without much front dive. Off-road, the R 1300 GS performed well, climbing trails easily in Enduro Pro mode. The bike’s dynamics made it easy to handle steep climbs.  BMW R1300 GS Review: Boasts New & Convenient FeaturesThe BMW R 1300 GS comes with many features that make it a great bike. Some features, however, are only available on the top-end models. For instance, only the 719 variant includes advanced radar technologies like active cruise control, front collision warning, and lane change warning. The adaptive ride height control is an optional feature for the Triple Black variant.  Despite this, the R 1300 GS offers many standard features. It has multiple riding modes: Eco, Road, Rain, Enduro, and Enduro Pro, with a Dynamic mode for more serious riding. The bike uses the same 6.5-inch full-color TFT screen as the R1250GS, which displays lots of ride information. Riders can select various themes and change the layout of the information using multiswitch buttons.  Should You Buy it or Not?Before making a final decision, consider a few things. It genuinely offers better performance features than its predecessor R1250 GS bike. The R1250GS is already comfortable, powerful, and feature-rich. But BMW believes the new R 1300 GS is more convenient.  The R 1300 GS is lighter, more powerful, and has more features. It's easy to ride, even off-road. It's designed to appeal to younger riders and those new to adventure touring.  If you're looking for a powerful and comfortable adventure bike, the R 1300 GS is a great choice. It's only Rs 40,000 more than the R 1250 GS which costs Rs 20.55 lakh.  Apart from this, if you are looking for a street-naked bike, don’t worry because the Ducati Monster 30 Anniversario bike is now available in India.Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta           Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

BMW R 1300 GS Set to Launch in India on 13 June 2024
CalendarPublished on June 6, 2024 by BikeJunction
After appearing on the BMW Motorrad India website a few days ago, we can now confirm that the highly anticipated R 1300 GS will officially launch on June 13."   Highlights:-    1,300cc motor makes 145hp, 149Nm of torqueGets radar-assisted electronic riding aidsThree variants are listed on the Indian websiteBMW R 1300 GS India launch details   The R 1300 GS represents a major change in the design of BMW’s flagship adventure tourer. Unlike older models, which often had asymmetrical dual-pod headlights, the R 1300 GS features single-pod headlights with four DRLs. Both headlights and DRLs use LED technology.   Lighter, More Powerful, and Packed with Advanced Features  The 1300 is significantly lighter than the outgoing 1250, which weighs 12 kg less and has a longer wheelbase. This weight saving comes from a new sheet metal frame and a new 1300cc engine. Also, a fraction of the weight savings comes from the 1300 GS, which uses a litre less fuel than the respected 1250 model.   The BMW R 1300 GS offers raw power. Its liquid-cooled, horizontally opposed engine generates an impressive 145hp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, a notable improvement over the previous 1250 GS. This boost in performance that is bound to fuel your passion for adventure touring.   Announcing a new mechanism in adventure touring, the BMW R 1300 GS features cutting-edge radar-assisted riding aids, a groundbreaking addition to the GS series. Combined with its standard riding modes, electronic suspension, traction control, and cruise control, it guarantees an exhilarating and safe riding experience.   Three Variants: GS Trophy, Triple Black, and Option 719 TramuntanaThe Indian website lists three variants of the BMW R 1300 GS: the GS Trophy, Triple Black, and the top-spec Option 719 Tramuntana. The first two variants feature alloy wheels, whereas only the Tramuntana variant is equipped with tubeless cross-spoked rims. The tyre sizes are consistent across all models, with the front at 120/70-R19 and the rear at 170/60-R17. The outgoing BMW R 1250 GS is available only in a single ‘Pro’ variant, priced at Rs 20.55 lakh (ex-showroom, India). While we expect BMW to maintain relatively competitive pricing, the new 1300 GS will likely be more expensive than its predecessor.    For comparison, the Ducati Multistrada V4 and the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special, which are the closest competitors to the R 1300 GS, both cost over Rs 24 lakh. Among the large 1,000cc+ ADV tourers sold in India, only the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro is priced under Rs 20 lakh, with other variants of the Tiger exceeding that amount. Before you go, visit the Top 5 Budget-Friendly Dual Channel ABS Bikes  Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta        Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
