Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will make a Global Debut this year before going on sale in the markets.
Royal Enfield is actively working on developing new motorcycles across various segments and price ranges. The brand is in the process of creating models with engine capacities of 350cc, 450cc, and 650cc. Royal Enfield's CEO has also confirmed the company's focus on electric motorcycles and concepts, indicating their commitment to expanding their offerings. In the coming year, Royal Enfield will launch various new motorcycles; among them, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is expected to be a favourite.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a dual-purpose adventure tourer that will directly compete with models such as the KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G310 GS.
It will be available at a competitive price, with an estimated starting ex-showroom price of around Rs. 2.8 lakh. The Himalayan 450 is expected to make its global debut later this year before going on sale. This upcoming adventure motorcycle will be the first in Royal Enfield's new 450cc range, which is expected to spawn several other models in the future.
The Reports suggest that a roadster based on the 450cc platform will be introduced as early as next year. Its development is progressing rapidly to compete with motorcycles like the upcoming Harley-Davidson X440 and Triumph Speed 400.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will feature a liquid-cooled engine, which will deliver a maximum power output of around 40 bhp. It is also expected to adopt a lighter architecture for improved stability and handling characteristics in comparison to the current Himalayan 411, which utilises a half-duplex split cradle frame.
Noteworthy Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 features include a new digital instrument console angled towards the rider, long-travel upside-down front forks, off-set monoshock suspension, LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, and LED turn signals. This model will be the first non-650cc Royal Enfield to offer these features.
It is also expected to come equipped with a slipper clutch as standard and offer a dual-channel ABS system. The Himalayan 450 will cater to the growing adventure tourer segment and provide optional accessories to meet touring and off-road requirements.
