V-Strom 250 will compete with KTM 250 Adventure
Suzuki Motor Corporation has released an updated version of its quarter-litre adventure-tourer motorcycle, the V-Strom 250. This model is designed to compete with the KTM 250 Adventure, offering customers another option in the adventure motorcycle segment. The updates made to the V-Strom 250 aim to enhance its features, performance, and overall appeal to adventure enthusiasts.
Suzuki Motor Corporation has introduced six dual-tone paint themes for the international-spec motorcycle version. The colour options available are:
These colour options offer a range of choices for potential buyers, allowing them to select the combination that best suits their preferences. Suzuki aims to compete with the KTM 250 Adventure with this updated version of the V-Strom 250.
The styling cues of the 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 250 have remained similar to the previous version. It features a round headlight, a tall windscreen, a step-up saddle, semi-fairing with a beak-style front, and a side-slung exhaust.
One notable change is that the international-spec V-Strom 250 now rides on 17-inch alloy wheels on both the front and rear, unlike the India-spec V-Strom SX. The wheels are fitted with 110/80-section front and 140/70-section rear tubeless tyres. This wheel setup is expected to improve stability and handling on various terrains. In terms of suspension, the 2023 V-Strom 250 is equipped with telescopic front forks and mono-shock at rear with disc brakes at both ends.
The V-Strom 250 powers a 248cc, parallel-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The engine of the bike is attached to a six-speed gearbox, allowing riders to use its power across various riding conditions. It also produces a maximum power output of 24bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 22Nm at 6,500rpm.
The V-Strom 250 comes equipped with several features, including a halogen headlight for adequate illumination, and a DC outlet for charging electronic devices on the go. The other features of the bike include ABS (anti-lock braking system) for enhanced safety and an LCD instrument cluster to provide essential information to the rider at a glance.
The availability of specific motorcycle models can vary by region or market. While the 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 250 might not be expected to arrive in India, Suzuki Motor Corporation's India already offers the V-Strom SX in the Indian market. The V-Strom SX serves as Suzuki's offering in the quarter-litre segment in India, competing with motorcycles such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan and KTM 250 Adventure. The V-Strom SX provides adventure-touring capabilities and aims to attract riders looking for a versatile and capable motorcycle for both on-road and off-road adventures.
