Royal Enfield Sales Report December 2022

Royal Enfield has recorded a 7.24% decrease in sales in December 2022. Sales decreased YoY from 73,739 units sold in December 2021 to 68,400 units. There was a volume loss of 5,339 units.

The motorbike manufacturer from Chennai has advanced significantly overseas. From opening a new CKD factory in Brazil to collaborating with Stark Future, a Spanish electric mobility business, on RE's upcoming electric bikes.

From 65,187 units sold in December 2021, domestic sales of Royal Enfield decreased by 8.23% in the most recent month to 59,821 units. Exports increased 0.32% to 8,579 units from 8,552 units delivered in December 2021, a little improvement.

Both for the 350cc segments, YoY de-growth, was evident. As a result, sales of 350cc bikes decreased from 11,196 units sold in December 2021 to 7,177 units in December 2022. Royal Enfield's best-selling 350cc bikes are the Classic, Hunter, Bullet, Electra, and Meteor.

Additionally, on a month-over-month basis, the firm reported a 9.03% decline in domestic sales from 65,760 units sold in November 2022, while exports rose 71.37% from 5,006 units delivered in that same month. As a result, over the 4,810 units sold in November 2022, the 350cc sector grew by 49.21%.

Sales increased in April, May, and June 2022, and 1,57,652 units were sold in Q2 2022, up 50.61% from 1,04,677 units in Q2 2021. Thus, H1 sales rose 8.04% to 3,17,990 units. With the exception of December 2022, every month following that had increased sales.

To conclude, H2 sales were higher by 50.33% at 385,176 units from 256,221 units sold in 2021 H2 , Q3 sales climbed by 73.37%, and Q4 sales increased by 34.18%. As a result, the company's overall sales in CY 2022 rose from 5,50,557 units sold in CY 2021 to 7,03,166 units, a 27.72% increase.

B Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield, said, "After launching some best-in-class products like the Scram 411, and Hunter 350, we are now all geared up to launch our most awaited cruiser - Super Meteor 650," 

He further added, "After a break of two years, we conducted our marquee ride - Himalayan Odyssey, and also got a chance to celebrate our community with Rider Mania. We are looking forward to the new year with lots of exciting news and some of the most exciting motorcycles from Royal Enfield's stable making their debut for our customers across the world."
