Vida V1 Plus VS Ather 450S | Price, Specs & Features Compared

Hero MotoCorp recently reintroduced the Vida V1 Plus, priced at Rs 1.03 lakh, as a more affordable option compared to the Rs 1.30 lakh V1 Pro. On the other hand, Vida V1 Plus comes at a lower price range and offers performance and range similar to the V1 Pro. It competes directly with the Ather 450S, priced at Rs 1.10 lakh.

Both scooters are well-known for their performance and stylish design in the Indian electric vehicle market. We'll compare them to help you decide which scooter suits your needs better.

Battery Capacity

Vida V1 boasts a powerful 3.44 kWh battery with a 6000 W motor, providing riders with ample energy for their journeys. Additionally, its quick 0-40 km/h acceleration in just 3 seconds makes it ideal for city commuting. Vida V1 Plus comes with a reliable 3-year battery warranty, offering peace of mind to users.

Ather 450S, on the other hand, has a strong 2.9 kWh battery and a powerful 5400 W motor, providing a peak power of 5 W. It accelerates quickly from 0-40 km/h in just 3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 80 km/h. This scooter also comes with a 3-year battery warranty similar to V1 Plus.

Design

The Vida V1 Plus looks quite unique. Whether it is the styling of the front apron with the integrated headlight, the swooping side fenders or the narrow tail section. Part of the reason why the scooter looks the way it does is also because of the need to accommodate its removable batteries while maximising boot space.

The Ather 450S looks like the 450X, save for the smaller, blacked-out cover over the handlebar cowl. There is no denying that the Ather looks good despite having been around for a few years. It is the sportier-looking scooter of the two and is certainly aimed at the younger set of buyers in the electric scooter market.

Charging Time

The Vida V1 Plus delivers rapid charging, achieving 80% capacity in just 6 hours and 36 minutes and a complete 100% charge in 8 hours and 36 minutes. With its reliable lithium-ion battery, riders can enjoy minimal downtime and maximum convenience.

The Ather 450S offers a convenient charging experience with its battery, featuring a charging time of 6 hours and 36 minutes from 0% to 80% and 8 hours and 36 minutes for a full charge from 0% to 100%.

Brakes

The Vida V1 Plus e-scooter comes with a robust braking setup to ensure rider safety. Equipped with a front disc brake and rear drum brake, it ensures powerful braking. The innovative braking system of the Ather 450S electric scooter provides improved safety and control.

Its front brake utilises a hydraulically actuated triple-piston calliper disc, while the rear brake employs a hydraulically actuated single-piston calliper disc. With a front brake diameter of 200 mm and a rear brake diameter of 190 mm, the Ather 450S ensures responsive braking performance for a smooth riding experience.

Wheels & Tyres

The Vida V1 Plus electric scooter features a wheel size of 304.8 mm for both the front and rear tyres, ensuring stability and control on various road surfaces. Additionally, the tubeless tyres on this e-scooter reduce the chance of sudden deflation and offer a smoother ride. The Vida V1 Plus provides quick handling and manoeuvrability in urban traffic conditions thanks to its 1301 mm wheelbase.

The Ather 450S is equipped with tubeless tyres and aluminium alloy wheels for enhanced durability and safety on the road. It features front and rear tyre sizes of 90/90 - 12, along with corresponding wheel sizes of 12”x 2.15”. The Ather 450S provides urban commuters with a balanced and comfortable riding experience thanks to its 1296 mm wheelbase.

Final Verdict

When it comes to e-scooters, the Vida V1 Plus and the Ather 450S both have outstanding performance. Despite having more features, like riding modes that are exclusive to its class, the Vida V1 Plus is distinguished by its exceptional pricing. Still, commuters who frequently require a trustworthy e-scooter with long-lasting performance will find fantastic value in the Ather 450S.
