The Super Meteor 650, a premium cruiser motorbike from Royal Enfield, has finally been released to the public in India for a starting price of Rs 3.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The same is currently available for reservations, and delivery will start in February 2023.
Today marks Royal Enfield's official debut of the Super Meteor 650. (January 16, 2023). Despite being constructed on a completely new basis, the Super Meteor 650 is equipped with the same parallel-twin engine used in the 650 twins.
The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 price ex-showroom at Rs 3.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 3.79 lakh. The motorbike is the most expensive model offered by the brand.
The Super Meteor 650's engine is derived from the 650 twins, the Continental GT and Interceptor 650. The 648 cc parallel twin air/oil-cooled SOHC engine produces a maximum output of 47 PS/ 34.6 kW at 7,250 rpm. It has a 6-speed gearbox. However, the engine's maximum torque of 52.3 Nm is available at 5,650 rpm.
Astral, Interstellar, and Celestial are the three variations of the motorbike that are available. The Intersteller and Celestial are both Rs 3.64 lakh and Rs 3.74 lakh more expensive than the Astral, which costs Rs 3.49 lakh. Like previous Royal Enfield bikes, the Super Meteor 650 will be accessible for customization by the purchasers. Astral Black, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Green, Interstellar Grey, Celestial Red, and Celestial Blue are the available colours for the motorbike.
The motorbike has a spherical LED headlamp, chrome exhausts, and a gasoline tank with a teardrop form. Wide handlebars and a relaxing seating posture are included. Dual discs and dual-channel ABS are included as standard on the motorbike for braking. The rear disc is 300mm, and the front disc is 320mm. The rear suspension consists of two shock absorbers, while the front suspension is an upside-down fork. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is 15.7 litres. The motorcycle's kerb weight is 241kg (with 90% fuel and oil). The longest bike in RE's lineup, this easy rider has a 2,260mm length and a 1,500mm wheelbase.
A touring windscreen, passenger backrest, bar end mirrors, LED indicators, machined wheels, deluxe touring, dual seats, deluxe foot pegs, long trip panniers, touring handlebar, and LED indicators are among the motorcycle's accessories. A windscreen and pillion backrest is standard on the tourer model.
There are no direct competitors for the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 in India. However, it will indirectly compete with models like the Kawasaki Vulcan S and Benelli 502C.
