Royal Enfield has officially unveiled the production version of its most anticipated model - Shotgun 650, for global markets, following the showcase of the custom-painted Motoverse Edition in late November. Although the motorcycle is yet to be launched in India, it is anticipated to hit the market by mid-January 2024.
Royal Enfield describes the Shotgun 650 as a factory-custom Bobber based on the Super Meteor 650 but featuring a slightly different design and revised ergonomics. In its stock form, the Shotgun 650 will be a single-seater with an accessory seat option for riding with a pillion. The motorcycle will be available in four colors – Stencil White, Green Drill, Plasma Blue, and Sheetmetal Grey.
Under the hood, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is powered by the proven 648cc, oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 46.40bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and includes a standard slipper clutch.
The Shotgun 650 will ride on a 100/90-18 front tire and a 150/70 R17 rear tire, mounted on alloy wheels. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm front disc and a 300mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The motorcycle features Showa separate function USD forks at the front and Showa twin shocks at the rear, offering 120mm and 90mm of suspension travel, respectively.
With a fuel tank capacity of 13.8 litres and a kerb weight of 240kg (1kg lighter than the Super Meteor 650), the Shotgun 650 is expected to be priced around Rs. 3.80 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom) when it is officially launched.
