Royal Enfield has announced that it can now fit its Himalayan 450 with optional tubeless spoke wheels at ₹11,000 per wheel. Available through the brand's accessory catalogue, these will eliminate an internal tube and, therefore, allow simpler repairs in case of a puncture. The Himalayan 450 owners will have to pay ₹12,424 for this upgrade.
Starting from October 3, the upgrade availability will begin at dealerships. This update raises the bike's stakes as a superb off-roader and marathon runner- it means making it more customer-friendly. Interestingly, the Himalayan 450 is the only adventure motorcycle in its segment to offer tubeless spoke wheels.
Quick Highlights:
Royal Enfield has finally put its new tubeless spoke wheels for the Himalayan 450 on its website at ₹11,000 a pair. Royally, these wheels are part of the brand's accessory catalogue. Owners of the existing Himalayan 450 will have to shell out ₹12,424 for these new wheels, which will be available at dealerships from October 3.
With these newly invented, or at least popularised, cross-spoke wheels, commonly called tubeless spoke wheels, you can fit tyres directly on the wheels without an inner tube. Thus, if there's ever a puncture, it can be easily remedied with a patch or standard puncture kit without having to take off the entire wheel assembly and worry about tube replacement or repairs.
Tubeless spoke wheels will be offered for the Himalayan 450, which should enhance its overall usage. This is both for off-road use and a long road trip over impassable roads with a greater likelihood of punctures. Worth noting is that these new wheels were introduced just under a year after the bike's launch in December 2023.
However, aside from the new wheels, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 remains unchanged, with the same engine, suspension, brakes, features, and everything else in place. The good news is that it is the only adventure motorcycle in its segment to offer tubeless spoke wheels.
