Ola Electric is a leader in India's electric scooter market. The company is planning to launch its first electric motorcycles. Ola showcased these four motorcycle models, including Diamondhead, Roadster, Adventure and Cruiser, in August 2023. Moreover, the design patents for three of these bikes were revealed recently.
Among these, two of the bikes look similar to the Roadster model, which features stylish alloy wheels and a sturdy frame. Apart from these, the third bike appears simpler, with a hub-mounted motor and basic suspension. It is likely to be the most affordable option. This bike is expected to perform like a 125cc petrol-powered motorcycle.
In their IPO document, Ola Electric mentioned they would start delivering their new electric motorcycles in the first half of 2026. This means the launch could happen between May and September 2025. The motorcycles they plan to launch are called Diamondhead, Adventure, Roadster, and Cruiser.
Ola's new electric bikes will have a bold and sporty look. They will feature big tyres on alloy wheels, strong USD forks, and two-disc brakes. The bikes will also have a modern LED headlamp and LED indicators on the tank sides.
While many details are still secret, Ola’s earlier M1 Cyber Racer concept showed some exciting features. These included a futuristic digital display and a unique three-step seat with a charging spot underneath. The bikes will also have a smooth, integrated tail light.
Ola will use the same base design for all four of their electric bike models. The company plans to keep the battery and motor in the middle of the bike. However, each model will have different power and range options to suit different riders.
Ola Electric's CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, promises that their new e-bikes will perform amazingly. He says these bikes will have the most powerful electric motor ever on an Indian motorcycle and bigger batteries than their scooters. The company is making sure the bikes have very few shared parts with their scooters.
Similarly to the Ola, Kawasaki is also launching the 2025 Ninja 650 bike in India soon.
