Recently, new details about the 2024 Kawasaki Versys 1100 S have surfaced online. The information comes from type approval documents from Australia, confirming that Kawasaki is working on a new model. Moreover, this new Versys 1100 S is expected to be an upgraded version of the Versys 1000. Although not much has changed in the design, there are some exciting updates in its engine and electronics.
On the design front, the Versys 1100 S is not expected to look very different from the current Versys 1000. It will likely keep its bold front design, featuring a split LED headlight. Moreover, the large clear visor and split seats will also remain the same. The bike will continue to have a single-sided exhaust, which adds to its sporty look.
Furthermore, the new bike will come with a TFT display and smartphone connectivity. However, some features, like electronic suspension, may only be available in other models, as the 1100 is considered a mid-tier option.
Kawasaki is expected to use a new 1099cc inline four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine for the Versys 1100. This engine should produce around 133bhp, which is a small improvement over the current engine's 118bhp. The new engine will be lighter, which means the bike could perform better. Moreover, it will be paired with a six-speed gearbox and offer advanced electronics, including rider modes, ABS, traction control, and more.
The leaked information also shows that the new model will have adjustable USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear. The bike will come with dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc brake with ABS. The 17-inch wheels with tubeless tyres will remain the same as in the current model.
The new Versys 1100 S is going to make its appearance before the end of this year and reach global markets after that. Being a new model, several people consider it an upgraded version of the Versys 1000 due to the minor changes. Although the lack of true off-road capabilities disappoints a few people, in general, the lighter weight with a more powerful engine makes it a really good option.
