As the Indian automobile industry gears up for the year 2023, there is a lot of excitement and anticipation for what’s to come. March 2023 is going to witness some of the most exciting launches of the year, belonging to various categories. Let’s look at some of them below!
A much-awaited bike that should’ve been launched way earlier but couldn’t due to a deal between BMW and TVS that prevented the company from launching overlapping models. But, the agreement now has clearly changed, and now Indian customers will soon be able to buy the iconic TVS Apache RTR 310.
Apache RTR 310 streetfighter bike could make its debut at the TVS MotoSoul in Goa, which will take place on March 3-4. The upcoming bike will come with a price tag of Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
TVS iQube is finally getting the long overdue update, and the company will launch the newly upgraded variant - ST, this month. However, TVS did give us a little sneak peek into the new scooter at Auto Expo 2023. The scooter might get launched along with Apache RTR 310 at the TVS MotoSoul event with a price tag of Rs 1,20,000 lakh (ex-showroom).
Last year, Triumph launched its 2023 Street Triple lineup with a naked bike that underwent several technical and aesthetic improvements. The Street Triple R and RS are set to be launched in March this year. The Street Triple R might come with a price tag of Rs 9.40 lakh, while the Street Triple RS price tag could be set at Rs 11.70 lakh, both ex-showroom.
Honda has been working on a 100 cc commuter bike, of which the design patent has leaked on the internet. The leaked documents also revealed that the bike could come with a sloper engine. The bike is all ready and will be launched on March 15. It will come with competitive pricing of around Rs 62,000 (ex-showroom).
Bajaj Chetak is all set to have more variant models this month. Currently, Chetak has an IDC range of 90 km in Eco Mode, but the newer variant might deliver 108 km of the IDC range. Therefore, the latest variant of Bajaj Chetak might not have any substantial price hike. The current price of Bajaj Chetak is Rs 1,51,958 (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield is launching 2 new retro-modern variants - Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & the Continental GT 650. These two bikes are definitely going to be one of the most important launches in March. They are packed with features like LED headlights, USB charging port, tubeless alloy wheels and more.
Moreover, Royal Enfield will be setting the price at roughly Rs 40,000 more than the current bike models, given their additional features and additions to these models.
Taking a completely different path, the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure will swap its alloy wheels for spoke wheels. And with ADV having been upgraded throughout the world, we are expecting KTM India to follow along the path for the upcoming model too.
As India moves towards phase 2 of its BS6 emission norms after April 1, multiple OEMs are working hard to roll out OBD 2-compliant bikes & scooters. Yamaha has already begun to update its lineup to be OBD 2 Compliant.
OBD 2 Norms will require the vehicles to preset emission levels in real time for customers to keep track of. In addition, companies will begin fitting the 2nd Gen Onboard Diagnostic Device for its range of vehicles.
