Kawasaki W175 Street looks old-fashioned but has some new features, like alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. Even though it has a small engine and halogen headlight, it rides well and feels nice. Lots of people are into old stuff again, and this bike fits right in. It's cool because it combines retro design with new technology, which makes it an ideal bike for many.
The W175 bike offers decent performance and a retro look that appeals to many riders. Moreover, it is suitable for daily commutes. The Kawasaki W175 Street price starts from Rs. 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The bike has its merits, but the price tag can create challenges for some people with an average budget. Moreover, before making a decision, riders should consider the main features, such as safety and comfort, as well as other options in the segment.
This Kawasaki bike has a 177cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 12.8bhp and 13.2Nm of torque. The engine of the W175 bike may have small numbers, but it works well in both city and highway conditions. It's light and easy to handle, which makes it great for navigating through busy streets. Kawasaki W175 Street keeps it basic with a simple instrument cluster with a small digital display showing fundamental data like fuel level, odometer, trip meter, and clock. The switchgear is easy to understand and of good quality.
The W175 falls short in its features. It comes with single-channel ABS, a halogen headlamp, and a basic instrument cluster. However, due to its high price point, it should have additional features like a rear disc brake, dual-channel ABS, a tachometer, and a USB port. It provides a delightful riding experience for those who appreciate its simplicity and classic design.
Kawasaki's tubular semi-double-cradle frame, coupled with a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers, provides a steady ride. Even running on thin Ceat tyres, the bike handles corners easily and offers great grip and input to the rider. The suspension system is very well-judged and offers an agreeable ride. While it manages bumps moderately well, a few bigger knocks can disrupt it.
A single front disc and rear drum brake with single-channel ABS handles braking. The front brake feels a bit spongy and lacks bite, while the rear brake can lock up if applied too hard. However, with careful use, it's possible to enjoy controlled rear brake slides. The inclusion of alloy wheels and tubeless tyres not only enhances the bike's aesthetics but also provides practical benefits such as easier puncture repairs.
