Additionally, the R 1300 GS is 12 kg lighter than the R 1250 GS. This model is expected to be available in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
The new-generation BMW R 1300 GS features a 1,300cc twin-cylinder boxer engine. Its engine produces 145 bhp @ 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm. This is an increase of 9 bhp and 6 Nm over the previous model. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The bike's suspension has been upgraded with an EVO telelever unit at the front and an EVO paralever unit at the rear. Both suspensions are fully adjustable. Moreover, an optional Dynamic Suspension Package allows riders to adjust damping and spring preload while riding and even change the seat height at low speeds. The new engine and suspension improvements make the R 1300 GS more powerful and versatile.
