Auto Expo 2023: Best bikes unveiled in India

Great diversity observed in the markets for two-wheelers and alternative vehicles in auto-expo 2023. These bikes include the electric cruisers, and flex-fuel bikes from many brands. The chinese brands, Benda and Benelli also participated with new models. Let's check the major two-wheeler debuts and launches from the show.

Keeway
 

Keeway SR 250

SR250, Keeway India's new motorcycle, has an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.49 lakh. The SR250, powered by a 223cc single cylinder engine that develops 16 bhp of power and 16 Nm of torque. It has a tank capacity of 14.2-litre, and the bike weighs 120kg. Further, SR125, which is the smaller segment of SR250, features a round headlight, ribbed pattern on the brown seat, and spoked wheels. A telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers are part of the suspension system, while braking-system uses 300mm front disc brakes along with 210mm rear disc brakes. The list of features includes a dual-channel ABS system and a semi-analogue instrument cluster.
Expected deliveries of the motorcycle begin in February 2023. Most likely, it will compete with TVS Ronin, Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Kawasaki W175. In addition Keeyway is going to launch Keeway 300R, Keeway C1002V, Keeway M502N and Keeway Victoria Sixties. 

Benelli


Benelli 752S

Benelli unveiled 3 bikes in the auto expo 2023. These bikes are Benelli TRK 502, Benelli 752S and Benelli Leoncino 800. The price of these bikes, expected as- Rs. 5,69,881 for TRK 502, Rs. 6,00,000- Rs. 7,00,000 for 752S and Rs. 8,00,000- Rs. 9,00,000 for Benelli 800. Further sequentially, these bikes will have an engine capacity of 500cc, 752cc and 754 cc. There is not a big difference between the Benelli 752S and the Leoncino 800. Benelli 752S generates a torque of 67 Nm along with the torque of 80.45 bhp whereas Leoncino 800 generates the torque of 67 Nm and a power of 80.38 bhp.

Benda Motorcycles
 

Benda LFC 700

Chinese brand Benda unveiled 3 motorcycles at auto-expo 2023. These bikes are Benda LFC 700, Benda Dark flag V4 and Benda LFS 700. All of the three bikes launched by Benda are cruiser bikes. Further the torque and engine power of LFC 700 is 63 Nm and 96.55 bhp at 12000 rpm. Similarly Dark flag V4 develops 52.8 bhp power at 10,000 rpm and 42 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. Lastly, the LFS 700 generates a power of 76.04 Ps @ 11000 rpm and a torque of 67 Nm @ 8500 rpm. The expected price and LFC 700 and LFS 700 are Rs 8 Lakh in India. In addition, the expected price of Dark flag V4 is 2.50 Lakh in India. Further, the LFC 700 and LFS 700 comes with engine displacement of 680cc, whereas the Dark flag V4 has the engine displacement of 496 cc in addition to the liquid-cooled V4 motor.   

MBP M502N and C1002V- AARI
 

MBP 250N

Another Chinese-owned Italian brand, Moto Bologna Passione (MBP), made its debut at the auto-expo in India. MBP introduced the naked M502N and C1002V motorcycles in the largest automobile show in India. The new MBP motorcycles will be available alongside Benelli and Keeway models.
The C1002V first debuted in November 2022 at the EICMA show. The bike boasts a relaxed riding triangle, a blacked-out muscular body and fat tires on both ends. The bike, equipped with a V-twin 997cc engine that produces 94 bhp of power and a torque of 102 Nm. The MBP C1002V includes switchable engine maps and a cruise control system. There is also a 5-inch TFT display which connects with a smartphone via Bluetooth.

Moto Morini x-cape 649

The Moto Morini X-Cape is an adventure bike available in India at a starting price of Rs. 7,30,000. It is available in 2 variants and 6 colours. The top variant of this bike costs Rs. 7,50,000. The Moto Morini X-Cape is equipped with a 649cc BS6 engine that develops the power of 59.17 bhp and a torque of 54 Nm. In addition, the front and rear disc brakes of the Moto Morini X-Cape has an anti-lock braking system. This X-Cape motorcycle weighs 215 kg and it has a tank capacity of 18 litres. The X-Cape 650 is Moto Morini's middleweight adventure bike. 

QJ motor SRC 500

QJ Motor launched a cruiser bike at the auto-expo in 2023. This bike is named as SRC 500. QJ Motor SRC 500 comes with a displacement of 480 cc single cylinder engine. Its powerful engine generates a power of 25.85 PS followed by the torque of 36 Nm. Further, the bike is equipped with disc brakes in both the wheels. In addition to the braking system, the bike comes with ABS Dual Channel brakes.

Zontes U1 200
 

Zontes U1 200

The Zontes U1 200 is the supermoto-inspired motorcycle that captured the spotlight at Auto Expo 2023. This bike comes with the wire-spoke rims. The tires are provided with an inverted fork, and a rear monoshock suspension. Zontes U1 200 is equipped with a 198 cc liquid-cooled engine which has a capacity to generate the power of 21.5 bhp along with the torque of 19 Nm @ 7000 rpm. This bike is expected to launch in India in March at around an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.80 lakh.

Tork Kratos X and Updated Kratos R 

Tork Kratos X

Kratos X, a brand new e-bike, and Kratos R, an updated model, unveiled at auto expo 2023 by Tork Motors, an electric bike manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, Tork Kratos X, a multifunctional model with an aluminium pendulum and a 7-inch TFT touch panel. The e-bike, expected to have a more powerful motor than the Kratos R, which will produce more torque and accelerate faster. Although Tork Motors did not provide details on its power specs. The company will reportedly stop selling the standard Tork Kratos S and only the updated Kratos R and the new Kratos X will be available in India.

Tork Motors has also unveiled an updated version of the Kratos R e-bike to complement the new Kratos X e-bike. Furthermore, the company has added a fast charging port, improved front and rear turn signals, and an updated dashboard. The most advanced Tork Kratos R model, equipped with a 9 kW electric motor which can develop 12 bhp of power and a torque of 38 Nm. Now, the acceleration of these e-bikes from 0 to 40 km/h remains the same, but the top speed is now 105 km/h.

Ultraviolette F99

Ultraviolette in India has officially unveiled the all-new F99 electric motorcycle in auto expo 2023. With the showcase of the F99 Factory Racing platform on the second day of the show, Ultraviolette entered the world of fast racing. The F99 factory racing platform is set to be India's first motorsport-focused electric vehicle to develop technologies and features for electric motorcycles that push the boundaries of ingenuity. All the engine updates and improvements resulted in a maximum power output of 65 bhp and top speed over 200 km/h.

Cake Kalk series- “Kalk work” and “Kalk&”

Swedish brand Cake unveiled an off-road electric bike at Auto Expo 2023. The Cake's Kalk series of two-wheelers includes the "Kalk Work'', a patrolling motorcycle, and the "Kalk&", a street bike. Both models have a high ground clearance of 300mm, which will help them overcome almost any size obstacles. Both of these bikes offer a top speed of 90 km/h and range of 86 km, respectively. Its powerful engine is capable of developing a power of 14.75 bhp and maximum torque of 252 Nm. Although there are certain differences. The weight of Kalk& is 79kg which is 4 kg lighter than the Kalk work, and it has 19-inch wheels in addition to 202mm of suspension travel. On the other hand, the Kalk Work rides on 18-inch wheels. The weight of Kalk work is 83 kg and it comes with 200mm of suspension travel.

Honda XRE300

Honda XRE300 is an adventure bike which comes with a power engine. Its 291.1 cc single cylinder engine is capable of generating a maximum power of 25.4 bhp @ 7,500 rpm and a torque of 27 NM @ 6000 rpm. This 5 gear ADV has a ground clearance of 259 mm. The tank capacity and kerb weight of this bike are 13.8 litres and 153 kg. 

Matter energy: Concept UT and Concept EXE

Ahmedabad-based electric two-wheeler startup Matter Group has showcased two new concept bikes at the Auto Expo 2023. The two electric concept bikes, built on the same platform but have different applications. As the name suggests, it designed for utility purposes. Concept UT, designed as an electric utility motorcycle for the delivery service providers. The Concept exe, designed with a different purpose for commuting. 

As a street bike, this bike definitely attracts the short distance commuters. The specifications of both the e-bikes have yet to be disclosed, but you can expect a power reserve of about 100 km. Matter said the bikes fall in the commuter segment of 150cc. Both of these bikes come with two removable batteries, and to make swapping easier, the company has also introduced the HomeDock Inverter. This smart home docking station can be used for mobility and home energy storage applications.

Flex-fuel technology based bikes launched in auto-expo 2023

There are multiple brands that are working on an alternative of petrol and electricity. As the fuel reserves are limited up to a certain period, future generations will have to suffer if we do not take the alternative of petroleum now. Brands including Yamaha, Suzuki motors, Honda, Bajaj auto, TVS and Honda have show-cased their flex fuel and ethanol based bikes in auto expo 2023. If we take the example of Honda XRE 300, this bike is capable of using either petrol or ethanol as a fuel. This was the only bike showcased at auto expo 2023 while Honda skipped the auto expo this year. The other flex fuel bikes unveiled at auto expo 2023 are Yamaha FZ-15 or Yamaha FZ FI, Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV, Honda XRE 300 Rally, Hero Glamour Xtech, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. 

Conclusion 

Auto- Expo 2023 took place in Greater Noida, India from 11th to 18th of January 2023. The first two days were reserved for the Media and the rest of the days were opened for the general public. We witnessed a lot of new models and concept bikes to be launched in 2023. The brands had the surprise for almost all kinds of riders from commuters to racers and cruisers.
