Royal Enfield recently launched the updated versions of its Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 motorcycles in North America. Moreover, the company also recently launched the Shotgun 650 bike in North America. Now, these Royal Enfield bikes will likely aim to dominate the 650cc bike segment.
Also, the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 bikes will launch soon in India. These models have new updates that mark the most significant changes to the 650 Twins since their debut in 2018. In the US, the 2024 Continental GT 650 price starts at $6,349 (Rs. 5,28,982). Meanwhile, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 price is $6,149 (Rs. 5,12,319).
These new Royal Enfield bikes come with several upgrades to enhance riders' convenience and comfort. Notable improvements include a new LED headlamp, switchgear borrowed from the Super Meteor 650, and factory-fitted alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
Additionally, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 feature a USB Type-A charging socket and a redesigned saddle with extra padding for improved comfort during long rides. The 2024 iterations also introduce new colour options with single- and dual-tone schemes, along with blacked-out engine and exhaust components for a sleek appearance.

Both bikes remain the same in terms of specifications as last year's models. Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 features a 647.95cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine that generates 46.8bhp @ 7,250rpm and a torque of 52.3Nm @ 5,150rpm. Moreover, the Interceptor 650 equips a 648cc parallel twin air/oil-cooled engine that delivers 46.8bhp and 52Nm of torque.

Both bikes have a semi-digital instrument console with a digital odometer and analogue speedometer. They also come with digital fuel gauges and hazard warning indicators. They have halogen bulb headlights, turn signals, and brake/tail lights. However, the Continental GT 650 has a hazard warning switch, while the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 features a pillion grab rail, seat, and footrests.
Moreover, the Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 share 41mm front forks and twin coil-over shock suspension at the rear end. They also have 320mm front disc brakes and 240mm rear disc brakes. Additionally, both models are equipped with a 12V, 12AH VRLA battery and have electric start and killswitch features.
