To comply with the upcoming OBD-II and RDE requirements, many modifications will be made to the Honda Activa 125. According to leaked images from the company's website, the Honda Activa 125 will be updated with the H-Smart technology that first appeared on the Honda Activa 6G earlier this year. The 125 cc scooter gets various capabilities thanks to the H-Smart technology.
The 2023 Honda Activa 125 will initially meet the most recent OBD-II and RDE standards. This will enable features like Smart Unlock, which enables users to lock and unlock the scooter and fuel lid remotely up to a distance of two metres, to be added to the scooter. Also, the scooter has a Smart Locate feature that uses blinking LEDs to assist you in finding the scooter quickly.
Keyless ignition is another feature of the Smart Key that enables you to start the scooter with just the push of a button while the key is still in your pocket. However, the feature is only effective up to a distance of two metres, after which the scooter will lock on its own. The LED headlamp, analogue instrument console with a digital display, and side-stand cutoff will all be carried over from the Activa 125.
The leaked images also show that the 2023 Honda Activa 125's style and design have not changed. The scooter's alloy wheels, telescopic front forks, single rear shock, front disc brake, and rear drum brake all remain unaltered. Together with combi-braking, the scooter has it as standard. The same 124 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine with a CVT will also provide power; it is tuned for 8.18 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine will probably be updated to be E20 ready, meaning it can use fuel that contains 20% ethanol when it becomes accessible at petrol stations all throughout the country.
When the 2023 Honda Activa 125 H-Smart arrives in a few days, the price may somewhat increase. The new H-Smart variant should be the most expensive of the available options for the range, which is currently priced starting at 84,916 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The segment's competitors for the Activa 125 include the Suzuki Access 125, Yamaha Fascino 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and others.
