This resulted in a 17.64% decrease in YoY growth. This is a 29.22% decrease from the 464,308 units they sold in December 2023. Moreover, their market share declined by 14.06%. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India came in second, selling 316,356 units in December 2024. This is an 8.34% decline from the 345,128 units they sold in December 2023. However, their market share increased by 11.30%. TVS Motor Company Ltd. was third, selling 212,899 units in December 2024 compared to 233,398 units sold in December 2023. Their sales declined by 8.78%, but their market share increased by 10.76%. Bajaj Auto Ltd.'s sales declined by 23.74% to 139,125 units in December 2024, compared to 182,443 two-wheelers last year. Moreover, its market share dropped slightly to 7.41%. Suzuki Motorcycle India witnessed a 5.62% YoY degrowth, with 62,788 units sold in December 2024, compared to 66,530 in December 2023. Suzuki’s market share increased to 14.60%. Royal Enfield motorcycles experienced a 3.64% degrowth in sales, with 54,024 units sold in December 2024, down from 56,063 last year. Its market share increased to 17.01%. Yamaha India sold 41,651 units in December 2024, which is a 13.84% decline from 48,344 units in December 2023. However, their market share increased to 4.61%.  In December 2024, Ola Electric reported total sales of 13,771, a decline of 54.80% compared to December 2023 sales of 30,470 units. Moreover, the company also experienced a degrowth of 45.12% in the market share.  Ather Energy Pvt Ltd sold 10,431 units in December 2024. For comparison, the company registered sales of 6,553 units in December 2023, reporting a whopping increase of 59.18%.Moreover, on the market share front, the company also experienced a rise of 93.28% this month. Greaves Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd clocked in a total sales unit of 2,794 in December 2024, as compared to 2,977 units sold in December 2023. Due to this, the company saw a degrowth of 6.15% this month. Apart from this, the company experienced an increase in its market share by 10.54% for December 2024.  Classic Legends, which offers retro-style motorcycles, sold 2,341 units in December 2024. This represents a 7.25% drop from the 2,524 units sold in December 2023. Their market share increased to 12.62%. Piaggio sold 2,228 units in December 2024, a 26.03% decrease from the 3,012 units sold in December 2023. The company’s market share also dropped slightly to 10.18%.The "Others Including EV" category showed a decline of 15.10% YoY, with sales of 10,700 units, compared to 12,603 in December 2023. 2-Wheeler Sales Figures in CY 24The two-wheeler industry in India witnessed strong growth in CY'24, with a total sales of 18,912,959 units, marking a 10.78% year-on-year increase from CY'23. Hero MotoCorp retained its market leadership with 5,487,778 units sold, capturing a 29.02% market share. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India followed with 4,797,974 units and a 25.37% share. TVS Motor Company ranked third with 3,238,852 units sold, holding a 17.13% market share.  Notable players in the electric two-wheeler segment, such as Ola Electric and Ather Energy, showed promising performance, contributing to the overall growth. Suzuki, Royal Enfield, and Yamaha also maintained steady growth. Check out the list of upcoming scooters below: Hero Destini 125Hero MotoCorp revealed the facelift version of the Destini 125 in India back in September 2024. Its market launch is believed to happen soon during the Bharat Mobility Expo. But it's not announced yet. According to sources, it's to be priced at a level of between Rs 80,000 and Rs 85,000, ex-showroom. The new Destini 125 may possess a 124.6cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 9bhp and 10.4Nm of torque. Additionally, the scooter gets better handling due to the updated chassis. Three variants, VX, ZX, and ZX+, plus seven colour options, are available with the updated model. On top of that, it gets a projector LED headlight, LED taillight, H-shaped LED DRLs, a metal front fender, and moved turn indicators. Honda Activa eHonda Motorcycles & Scooters India will unveil the price of the electric Activa this year. The reservation began on January 1, and you can reserve this scooter for a mere amount of Rs 1000. The electric Activa will come with a direct-drive PMSM motor, which produces a peak torque of up to 22 Nm and 8 bhp. It features two 1.5kWh battery packs that have a 3kWh overall capacity. Moreover, it can go from 0 to 60 kmph in 7.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 80 kmph in this configuration. More importantly, it can go up to 102 km per charge. The price of the electric Activa is estimated to be around Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric Activa looks more modern and minimalistic compared to the normal ICE variant. Turn indicators and an LED DRL are positioned on either side of the centre LED headlight of the apron. Honda QC1The other popular Honda electric scooters include the QC1, which is designed with a fixed battery and is more for close riding use. It carries an in-wheel electric motor with a maximum torque of 77 Nm and a maximum power of 2.4 BHP, with a 1.5kWh battery that goes 80 km on one charge. Two modes are also given to the rider: Standard and Econ. The design of the electric Activa is influential on a few aspects of the QC1. There is a broad, curved seat and all-LED lighting. The scooter also comprises an all-flat floorboard and a fully digital display. It doesn't come with an LED Daytime Running Light, and the front aspect is not as elaborate as the Activa. The QC1 would be expected to start at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). Hero Xoom 125 RHero MotoCorp unveiled the Hero Xoom 125R at EICMA 2023, and the scooter will be available in the market this year. The new 125cc scooter has been spotted on many test drives lately. It has an aggressive LED headlight similar to the Hero Xtreme 125R. For comfort, it has a large pillion footrest, a split grab rail, and a sleek tail design with a split LED light setup. The Xoom 125R will also get a single-cylinder, 124.6cc air-cooled engine like the upgraded Destini 125. Hero MotoCorp might tweak this for the more performance-oriented Xoom, but this has not been confirmed yet.Regarding the features, Xoom 125R will sport LED indicators, Bluetooth connectivity, and a completely digital instrument cluster. The estimated price range might be between Rs 80,000 and Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). Hero Xoom 160Hero's first maxi-scooter, the Xoom 160, has a big windscreen, small beak, and split LED headlights. All of these enhance its ADV-inspired appearance. Moreover, it appears broad and long from the side profile because of its long wheelbase and the central spine. Numerous advancements will be included in this scooter, such as LED lights, keyless starting, and smart seat opening. Additionally, it features a "smart find" option as well. This uses a button on the key fob to assist in finding the scooter in a parking lot. A 156cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine will power the Xoom 160. Honda has launched the 2025 Activa 125 with exciting updates. The scooter now comes in two variants, including DLX, which is priced at Rs. 94,422, and H-Smart, at Rs. 97,146 (ex-showroom). Both of these variants feature new styling, but the H-Smart variant gets all the new features. The updated Activa 125 looks premium with a boxy headlight design and chrome detailing. Moreover, the front apron is redesigned and has larger turn indicators. This gives the scooter a modern and stylish appearance. These include Pearl Igneous Black, Rebel Red Metallic, and Pearl Precious White, among others. The Activa 125 is costlier than its counterparts, the TVS Jupiter 125 and Suzuki Access 125.
