2025 KTM 390 Adventure vs Old Model: What’s New?
2025 KTM 390 Adventure vs Old Model: What’s New?
CalendarPublished on February 4, 2025 by BikeJunction
KTM has officially revealed the updated 390 Adventure, and it comes with major upgrades. The new model has a more powerful engine, better features, and a fresh design. Compared to the previous version, it offers more comfort, technology, and off-road capability.  KTM will launch the 2025 390 Adventure in India in the coming days. Alongside the standard model, KTM is also expected to introduce a road-biased variant, the 390 Adventure X. Let’s take a closer look at what’s different. More Power and PerformanceThe biggest change is the engine. The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure now has a 399cc motor, replacing the older 373cc unit. Moreover, the power generation has increased from 43.5hp to 46hp, and torque has gone up from 37Nm to 39Nm. This means better acceleration and performance on highways and off-road trails. The engine is the same as the one in the latest KTM 390 Duke. This ensures a smoother and more refined ride. Upgraded Features and New StylingThe new model takes features to the next level. It now has adjustable suspension, multiple riding modes, and cornering ABS with traction control. Most importantly, it is the first sub-500cc adventure bike in India to get cruise control.  The styling has also changed significantly. The 2025 model looks slimmer and more aggressive, with a stepped single-piece seat replacing the older bike’s split seats. These changes make the bike more comfortable and adventure-ready. Specification UpgradesA major difference between the two models is the seat height. The 2025 model has a lower 830mm seat compared to the previous version’s 855mm. This makes it easier for shorter riders to handle. However, despite the lower seat, ground clearance has increased to 227mm, which is higher than before. This is possible due to the new suspension, which offers 200mm front and 205mm rear travel. While the fuel tank remains the same at 14.5 litres, the new model is slightly heavier. It weighs 183kg, which is 6kg more than the previous bike. However, this extra weight comes from the stronger frame and new features. The bike still has a steel trellis frame but with improved suspension for better handling. Before you go, don’t forget to check out Royal Enfield’s sales report for January 2025.Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter

To help you decide which of these two giants should be placed in your garage, let's take a closer look at its features, performance, and hardware. Key Differences: KTM 390 Adventure S and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450Two of the largest names in the country's premium motorcycle arena are KTM and Royal Enfield. At the same time, with new models, the two companies have always faced each other with high competition. Hence, let us compare the new KTM 390 Adventure S and Royal Enfield Himalyan 450 quickly.  KTM 390 Adventure S Vs Royal Himalayan Enfield 450: EngineThe 390 Adventure S and the new-generation 390 Duke, both the bikes will feature a 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. As per the Duke 390's specs, the engine makes 39 Nm of torque and 44.25 bhp. Besides, this engine will be mated to a six-speed transmission. This powertrain will also be expected to be used in Adventure S. However, various gear ratio tweaks will be made to maximise performance for long-distance touring and off-road riding. The 390 Adventure will be on sale on February 1st, according to KTM.  Royal Enfield 450 is quite differently featured, consisting of a liquid-cooled 452cc, single-cylinder engine producing around 40 bhp and delivering 40 Nm of torque. There is a slip-and-assist clutch in combination with a six-speed gearbox. KTM 390 Adventure S vs Royal Himalayan Enfield 450: SpecificationsThe steel trellis frame of the tested Duke 390 is the backbone of the 390 Adventure S. There is switchable dual-channel ABS, too, apart from the front and rear disc brakes. The suspension has been enhanced with a 5-step adjustable WP mono-shock at the back and fully adjustable 43mm WP Apex front forks. Both off-road and on-road conditions are catered to by Apollo Trample dual-sport tyres mounted on spoke wheels. The tyre comes in at 21 inches up front and 17 inches in the back. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is supported by a steel, twin-spar tubular frame. It has a rear Showa mono-shock with 200mm wheel travel and 43mm upside-down front forks with 200mm of travel. It has wire-spoked wheels at both ends, measuring 21 inches, similar to the KTM 390 Adventure. Additionally, tubeless tyres are also available with Royal Enfield these days. The braking system includes a 320mm front disc and a 270mm rear disc, along with switchable rear ABS. KTM 390 Adventure S vs Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: FeaturesA modern TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth for calls and music is now part of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure S. The bike also features turn-by-turn navigation and multiple ride modes with traction control. Additionally, a new 4-way menu switch on the handlebars allows riders to change settings quickly and easily while riding. In contrast, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has a 4-inch circular TFT display with a Google Maps-powered navigation system. This allows phone connectivity, music controls, and call management for a more connected riding experience. Before you go, check out the Triumph Thruxton 400 Spotted Again: Coming Soon or Not?Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
