Yamaha Aerox 155 Version S: Review After First Ride
Yamaha Aerox 155 Version S: Review After First Ride
CalendarPublished on September 4, 2024 by BikeJunction
In the Indian scooter market, the Yamaha Aerox stands out as something of an oddity. In a country where scooters are commonly used for commuting, shopping, and carrying two or three passengers, the Aerox sold surprisingly well despite its high price. It caught me off guard. Cut to 2024, and we have the Aerox Version S for a brief test. There is an improvement that makes it a more attractive option.  Timeless Sporty Design with Subtle Updates In terms of appearance, the Aerox has mostly stayed the same. It still retains its sporty and amazing looks while standing out in a sea of traditional “family” scooters. The twin LED headlights with their LED DRL brow, the X-shaped central spine, and the sportbike-inspired tail section with its slim LED strip all contribute to the Aerox's sporty maxi-scooter style. Despite being on the market for nearly three years, the Aerox still maintains a fresh and modern appearance.  This scooter distinguishes itself from other Aerox models by the ‘Version S’ sticker on the centre spine. Customers appreciate the blue colour and the overall fit and finish, which are good in most areas, although a few plastic parts, like the fuel cap, could be improved.  Advanced Features and Performance Review The Aerox Version S has a smart key, similar to the remote keys found in luxury two-wheelers. Instead of a traditional ignition keyhole, it incorporates a rotary knob. This knob allows you to open the boot and fuel filler cap or turn the ignition by rotating it in specific directions. This design adds greater convenience to riders, allowing them to lock the scooter without having to remove a key from their pocket. You can open it and get started.  The scooter is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 15bhp and 13.9Nm of torque. The engine is now E20-compatible and paired with a CVT.  The scooter's reverse LCD provides extensive information and includes Bluetooth connectivity. Although the data is useful, Customers would have preferred a brighter display, as it was hard to read when the sun was directly overhead.  Yamaha should introduce rear brakes and a lockable glove box to make the Aerox smoother and safer. The ride experience, however, is an exception, and innovation was certainly needed in this area.  Premium Price for Distinctive Style and PerformanceAt ₹1.51 Lakh, the Yamaha Aerox 155 Version S is costly by scooter standards. However, it carves out a unique niche with its distinctive styling, strong engine performance and excellent handling. Also, the simplicity and sleek feel of the remote keyfob make it appealing.  The Yamaha Aerox 155 is designed for those who want a scooter that stands out from the crowd. It offers the style and fun that the Japanese brand believes in. If you don’t require the conventional conveniences of a standard scooter, the Aerox fulfils many other criteria, making it a strong contender on your scooter shopping list. Before you go, have a look at the New Kawasaki Z900 Update on the Horizon. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb    Instagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta    Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
Yamaha Evaluating Potential MT-09 Launch In India
Yamaha Evaluating Potential MT-09 Launch In India
CalendarPublished on August 31, 2024 by BikeJunction
The Yamaha MT-09 street naked motorcycle is being considered for launch in India. The Japanese brand has been absent from the huge bike market here for years. The introduction of the MT-09 could revive Yamaha's presence in the segment, currently dominated by the Triumph Street Triple and the Kawasaki Z900. -Yamaha may bring the street naked bike to India-The 2024 model received major upgrades-AMT variant also available The MT-09 has received a number of improvements for 2024. It is updated and more aggressive, and it gives the bike a bolder attitude. It now has a more square lamp shield, a larger fuel tank and a more attractive tail. Comprehensive Features and SpecsThe device list is extensive and features a new colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The switchgear has been updated to be more user-friendly. On the electronics front, the bike features a six-axis IMU-supported traction control system, slide control, ABS, and three ride modes: Street, Sport and Rain, additionally available to the rider two of these cart tracks as desired. This year, Yamaha introduced the Y-AMT variant for the MT-09. This automatic manual transmission has two actuators—one for the clutch and the other for the gearbox—that allow automatic gear changes when the rider selects D or D+ mode. In addition, a manual mode is available to the rider so a gear switch can replace the left switch cube and be controlled. The Yamaha MT-09 is powered by an 890cc inline-triple CP3 engine, also known as a crossplane tri-engine. It produces 117bhp and 93Nm of torque, which is comparable to the competition. Finally, the bike features an aluminium delta box frame with an adjustable USD fork and a linkage-type monoshock rear. Yamaha has updated the spring rate and damping for 2024. The SP model is fitted with Ohlins suspension units for the front and rear. If Yamaha chooses to launch the bike in India, the Yamaha MT-09 is expected to cost around Rs 13 Lakh (ex-showroom). Yamaha is expected to provide an update soon on when it will be available.Curious to know about the Jawa Teases New Motorcycle, Set for Launch on 3 SeptemberFollow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
