Yamaha June 2023 Sales Report Inks A 12.41% Domestic Growth YoY

In June 2023, Yamaha FZ was the best-selling bike in India and other countries, even though its sales decreased compared to the previous year and month.

Yamaha Motor India sold a total of 71,385 bikes in June 2023, which was 6,842 units less than what they sold in June 2022. The company saw a growth of 12.41% in domestic sales compared to the previous year and an 8.96% increase in sales compared to May 2023. However, their bike exports declined by 50.94% compared to June 2022 and 29.54% compared to May 2023.

In June 2023, the company sold 58,567 bikes in India, showing a growth of 12.41% from the previous year and 8.96% from May 2023. Among their scooter models, Fascino and RayZR were the top-selling scooters in June 2023.

In June 2023, the Yamaha FZ was the top-selling bike in India, with 16,316 units sold. Even though it sold fewer bikes compared to the previous year (June 2022) and the previous month (May 2023), it still managed to hold a significant share of 27.86% in the company's lineup.

The R15 sports bike secured the second position, with 10,111 units sold in June 2023, showing an improvement in sales compared to the previous year (June 2022). However, it saw a decline in sales compared to the previous month (May 2023). Its share in the company's lineup decreased from 20.99% to 17.26% MoM.

The Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid scooter experienced a rise in demand in June 2023, with 13,441 units sold. This showed a significant increase in sales both compared to the previous year (June 2022) and the previous month (May 2023).

Despite some fluctuations, Yamaha's bikes and scooters continued to be popular in the Indian market.

In June 2023, the sales of the Fascino scooter saw an improvement compared to both the previous year (June 2022) and the previous month (May 2023). They sold 9,572 units, which was a growth of 20.93% from June 2022, when they sold 7,915 units and a 13.65% increase from May 2023, when they sold 8,422 units.

Similarly, the Yamaha MT15 also had better sales in June 2023 compared to the previous year (June 2022) and the previous month (May 2023). They sold 9,127 units, showing a growth of 17.24% from June 2022, when they sold 7,785 units. This gave the Yamaha MT15 a 15.58% share in the company's lineup. Compared to May 2023, sales increased by 27.54% from 7,156 units.

Overall, both the Fascino scooter and the Yamaha MT15 bike experienced increased demand and became more popular in the market.

Yamaha Domestic & Exports June 2023 MoM

In terms of exports, Yamaha faced a decline both compared to the previous year (YoY) and the previous month (MoM). In June 2023, they exported 12,818 units, which was a significant drop of 50.94% from June 2022, when they exported 26,128 units. Compared to May 2023, exports decreased by 29.54% from 18,192 units.

On a YoY basis, only models like the Saluto, Saluto RX, and MT15 saw an increase in exports, while every other model experienced a decline on an MoM basis.

Specifically, the FZ exports went down by 54.11% to 4,568 units in June 2023 from 9,954 units in June 2022. On an MoM basis, FZ exports fell by 30.91% from 6,612 units sold in May 2023.

Similarly, the RayZR also experienced lower exports, declining by 26.61% YoY and 19.80% MoM, resulting in 2,438 units being exported.

Overall, Yamaha faced challenges in the export market during June 2023, with most of their models witnessing decreased demand compared to the previous year and month.
