TVS Unveils Apache RTE: India's First Electric Racing Motorcycle

TVS Motors has moved into the electric bike field with the unveiling of the Apache RTE at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. This electric bike denotes TVS’ entrance into the electric vehicle segment. Moreover, it is outfitted with carbon fibre on its fairings.

The Apache RTE is a racing machine that flaunts great specs and advanced innovation. TVS aims to show its dashing legacy and commitment to advancement through this electrifying expansion of its setup.

Impressive Performance:

The TVS Apache RTE is capable of reaching a top speed of over 200 km/h. This places it on par with its internal combustion counterparts, giving it a significant advantage of 3.1 seconds on the same track. The bike's acceleration is equally impressive, with a one-second faster time to 100 km/h compared to the best comparable ICE motorcycles.

It is powered by a liquid-cooled axial flux motor, delivering 79.12 bhp. Additionally, the bike has a quarter-mile run advantage of 1.8 seconds over its ICE counterparts, further cementing its dominance on the racetrack.

Advanced Technology:

TVS has equipped the Apache RTE with advanced innovation to improve the riding experience and give riders complete information and input. The bike includes a durable aluminium frame and a carbon fibre battery case, lodging two indistinguishable battery packs organised in a series for simple swap-out.

The suspension arrangement involves an Ohlins FGRT 43 front shock and an Ohlins TTX 36 rear monoshock, ensuring ideal speed acceleration on the tracks. Brembo brakes, with a 320 mm front unit and a 240 mm back unit, offer predominant braking power and control on the streets.

One of the standout features of the Apache RTE is its innovative Plex SDM-550 dashboard data logger, featuring a 5-inch screen. This IP67-rated screen gives riders an abundance of data, incorporating lap times with intermediates, GPS speed and directions, lean point, rpm, and smart cautions and warnings. It upgrades the riding experience and assists riders with tuning their performance on the track.
