Ampere NXG Electric Scooter: Achieves Two New Records on Journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari

Ampere Electric is ready to launch NXG electric scooter in India. It is expected to hit the market in March 2024 with a price range between Rs. 1,30,000 and Rs. 1,50,000 Lakh. This scooter was showcased as a concept at the 2024 Auto Expo and is primarily designed for commercial use. Moreover, this electric scooter is now gaining popularity and recognition from the India Books of Records. 

Ampere Draws Biggest Electric Scooter Brand Logo on the White Sands

Ampere made its brand logo on the white sands using its new electric scooter. They did this at Dholavira in the Great Rann of Kutch. The logo they made was really big, covering an area of 17,100 square feet. It was about 179.8 feet wide and 95.2 feet tall, with a total distance around it of 394 feet. This made it the biggest brand logo ever made on white sands with an electric scooter. The India Book of Records confirmed this on February 2, 2024.

Ampere NXG Sets New Records

Ampere set another record using their NXG electric scooter by towing a pickup truck weighing 1860kg, plus an extra 140kg (equivalent to two passengers) for a total of 2km in just 15 minutes. This impressive feat took place at the Rann of Kutch on the Road to Heaven and was officially confirmed on February 3, 2024.

Previously displayed as a concept at the Auto Expo, the Ampere NXG is now ready to be launched in a production version, possibly named the ‘Ampere Nexus’. Ampere trademarked this name in April 2023, and trademark authorities have accepted it.

The production version of the Ampere NXG is expected to hit the market by mid-2024, with an estimated price range between Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom). Pre-bookings for the e-scooter are open now, and customers can reserve the limited K2K edition for Rs 499 directly from Ampere’s website.

• The NXG scooter has a roomy footboard and seat, making it reasonable for all families.
• It will be furnished with modern features like a 7-inch digital console and full LED lighting.
• A mid-mounted electric motor powers this EV and offer a range of around 120km on a single charge. 
• It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels and features telescopic forks and dual springs for suspension. 
• The test mule spotted had a disc brake at the front, with the rear brake likely to be a drum type.

The Ampere NXG will face competition from other premium electric scooters in the market, such as the Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, Vida V1, Bajaj Chetak, and TVS iQube.
