Will Ola electric bike compete with Ultraviolette F77?

Ola Electric may soon launch an ola electric bike in India. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal asked his followers what type of bike they preferred. The CEO has already expressed interest in launching an electric motorcycle in India.

Ola Motorcycle may be working on an ola electric bike for the Indian two-wheeled electric vehicle segment and could compete with the upcoming Ultraviolette F77 electric sportbike. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has previously hinted at an ola electric bike that Ola will soon introduce, focusing on a sportier riding style. The conversation prompted a poll the CEO recently ran on his Twitter account, asking respondents about their favourite type of ola motorcycle.

Ola Motorcycle currently has a lineup of three models: the Ola S1 Air, Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters.

CEO Bhavish Aggarwal ran a quick poll on Twitter to determine the most popular type of motorcycle. The survey listed four different styles of motorcycles: sport, cruiser, adventure, and cafe racer. Bhavish's followers favoured the sport bike.

This is in line with reports earlier in October, ahead of the launch of the affordable Ola S1 Air electric scooter in India. The CEO of an electric vehicle start-up from Bangalore expressed his dissatisfaction with the appearance of sports electric motorcycles on the market. This could be an indirect look at the upcoming Ultraviolette F77 electric sportbike. The CEO then showed interest in entering the electric vehicle market.

Ola Motorcycle could diversify its portfolio with an ola electric bike in the sports segment. Upcoming ola electric bike (sports segment) may take a more balanced route in terms of sportiness compared to the Ultraviolette F77 to cater to a wider audience. A bike can be designed to look stylish and sporty while still maintaining a comfortable yet focused riding triangle. The upcoming electric sportbike will likely compete with the 150-160cc sportbike. See to make it available to the masses.

Then comes the popularity and usability of electric motorcycles. Electric scooters are highly valued for their practicality and convenience, making them ideal for low-maintenance city commuting. With motorcycles, storage and practicality may not matter; however, the ride quality, performance and range are there. So how is Ola Electric supposed to launch its e-motorcycle segment? Let’s discuss it here.

Interestingly, the company does not intend to expand to enter the two- and four-wheeler market but also to localize the production of batteries. The electric vehicle maker aims to have its 5 GWh battery plant to be operational by the end of 2023 and plans to ramp it up to 100 GWh within the decade.

However, the next product in development from ola motorcycle is the Ola S1 Air, priced to match the Honda Activa 6G.
