KTM 390 Duke can get a higher displacement engine, the Indian launch expected soon!
The recent glimpses of the new KTM 390 Duke test mule before its launch in the Indian market show something new. However, the test mule did not reveal any new details about this roadster-segment motorcycle. It provided a quick look at the instrument cluster, which appears distinct from the current model. The current model's console includes various ride-related information; additional data can also be expected on the new model.
The new spy pictures provide a clear look at the body panels, which reveals the muscular fuel tank, five-spoke wheels, split-style pillion grab rail, split-style seats, and compact exhaust canister. The testing images produced by BikeWale show that this test prototype had pre-production paint. Nonetheless, we witnessed the auction-ready version with finished paint and decals from Europe in May this year. The upcoming model will feature new hardware, such as a new chassis and subframe, upside-down front forks, an asymmetrically-mounted rear mono-shock, and disc brakes on both ends.
KTM has undergone some mechanical updates and an increased engine displacement. The new version is expected to possess a 399 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, then the current model's 373 cc engine. The higher displacement produces a boost in power and torque figures compared to the current version, which produces 43 bhp of power and 37 Nm of torque. There are no details provided about the exact power and torque figures of the new model.
The arrival of the new model in the Indian market is expected soon. As for the pricing, the current version of the motorcycle is available at Rs. 2.97 lahks (ex-showroom, Delhi). In the Indian market, KTM's Indian division is anticipated to launch the latest model at a competitive introductory price. Nonetheless, the exact prices are yet unknown of the bike. We are awaiting an official announcement from KTM India for more precise information on the pricing of the forthcoming model. The new model is set to arrive soon.
