Before it makes its international premiere, the new CFMoto 800NK motorcycle from Chinese two-wheeler powerhouse CFMoto has been unveiled. This naked bike shouldn’t be surprising given the recent changes in this market brought about by the introduction of the Honda Hornet CB750 and the Suzuki GSX-8S.
The Austrian manufacturer’s LC8c powerplant is what CFMoto used to power the 800NK, thanks to their partnership with KTM. Less than the 790 Duke’s 105PS and 87Nm, the 799cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor cranks out 100.6PS at 9000rpm and 81Nm at 8000rpm. Despite this, it outperforms both the Hornet and the GSX-8S in terms of performance.
The motorcycle’s curb weight of 186kg, although having high-end gear and electronics, adds to its intrigue. The CFMoto 800NK features an adjustable USD fork and mono shock, and J.Juan callipers are responsible for anchoring.
The rider also gets the option to switch between three preset riding modes: Rain, Street, and Sport, and there is also a TFT console that is positioned vertically (as on the TVS Apache RR 310.
The 800NK’s style is distinctive and not too far from the previous year’s concept. It has the same angular front end with projector headlights and DRLs that resemble horns. In addition, the motorcycle’s muscular fuel tank is remarkably similar to the one on the 790 Duke. Finally, the tapering tail with the high-mounted exhaust adds to the motorcycle’s dramatic appearance.
